There is no evidence to suggest that acting out rape fantasies in a game or by any other means will prevent a person from doing it in real life. If anything, I would think that would spur them to do it even more. If I'm craving cake and I play a game where I find a delicious looking cake and "I" devour it, my appetite isn't going to be satiated in the least. I'm just going to crave cake even more and find a cake in real life to consume. I don't see how it's any different with violent or disturbed fantasies.
Isn't this the same argument used to ban violence in entertainment as well? Besides if I go to Literotica.com there will be tons of stories written by women about rape and mind control and other non-consensual stuff...so I have heard anyway...does that imply they are more likely to do those things or want them done to them IRL?
you are obviously missing my point.
come back and post after you've endured say... 4 months of being female.
see how well you deal with being constantly objectified, patted on the ass, harrassed, stalked, oh and possibly raped. then we'll see how you react to that link.
i would never presume to know how easy/difficult a man's life is because i am not one. i would be outraged if the game depicted men being raped as well.. that's SICK no matter who it's done to.
don't make light of an issue that affects women directly as it further objectifies us as sex slaves or the like. you think some 17 year old getting their hands on the rape game is going to respect the women he sees from then on? the chances are much slimmer than if he never played it.
the games are sick and should be banned forever but it will never happen.
honestly, what kind of sicko would fight to keep those games?
someone that shouldn't be loose in society to begin with.
EDIT: as for the stories you spoke of, the women CHOSE to write them.
the 'women' in the games are FORCED (not given a choice) into sexual acts AND there are images to go along with it.
with a written story, it's words on a page and the author chose to put them there.
CHOICE is the operative word here.
