Something I brought up yesterday that didn't get any discussion:

Insofar as there is one (which isn't that far), I think Miranda was intended to be the Renegade romance option. She's a saint compared to Jack, but I don't think (please correct me, I haven't actually played through her romance yet) you can complete her romance without Paragonning her. No Tali romance if you give the board the data. No similar moment for Miranda, even if I think people who don't encourage her to talk to her sister don't deserve her.



And yet, I can only bring myself to romance her as a paragon/very mild paragade. She deserves a knight in shining armor. Besides, I really do believe all that stuff about mercy and honor and doing things by the book I'm a sap.

well i always play 100% renegade 50% paragon sheps, and have always romanced miranda, but i wouldn't say the game is targeted that way - i would say that miranda is the game's default romance option, though, (being as you get her at the start and her side-mission is the first to come up). then again i generally take the paragon conversation choices with crewmates (except jack and sometimes jacob), because i tend to play a vic mackey/jack bauer renegade, rather than a douchebag.

I think Miranda is the most accepting of renegade-ish tendencies in Shep among the lover interests. I see the Tali romance as being straight paragon, Jack's "real" romance is obviously paragon, and Miranda needs Shep to be at least a little paragon to help her get over her issues. If you're a hardcore renegade the only "romances" I see being appropriate is either the Jack "just about sex" option or the Kelly option.

@ jtav - I think the only way that you won't or can't romance Miranda is if you don't do her loyalty mission. As for the white knight thing - I can see where you're coming from. My male Shepard's

tend to be some variety of knight. I've yet to be a pure white knight though - always either Paragade or Renegon. The most paragon of my ME characters is my female Adept!

Doubt it, Shepard is the third person that Miri has personal feelinfs for, protects him (she helped me up on the Normanady) only person she confines her doubt with. The only two people that sahe has strong feelings are Oriana and Niket. I doubt Miri would say "There was no us, it was just about sex"

Ah I'm starting to get what jtav was asking now. I agree with Jedi, the only real Renegade option would be the straight to buizznezz with Jack or Kelly.

I think it is supposed to be a real "romance". Like others have said, she appears to only really care about 3 people in her life, and Shepard is one of those (at least that is what I took from the conversations).

BTW: I played a little last night and got to the second (or third) convo with her....I did the "wait a minute, you're jealous!" response and did the kiss her option. That was a really well done scene. I'm sorry I missed it before.

I believe there is a video called "Miranda romance ALL options?" or something like that. It should have every possible dialogue option used...try to look for it, but I'm not 100% on this.
