I love Silent Hill and psychological horror. I do wish the gameplay was better, but the horror element is quite nice. Due to being conditioned over the years I'm rather desensitized to the horror genre in general, but I still find cerebral horror like Silent Hill refreshing.
I haven't played a horror game in so long... like, forever... I think the last one was a Resident Evil game.
If you want to get back into it, I might recommend Silent Hill. There's plenty of discussion to be had for those games, plenty of symbolism and introspection.
Does anyone else just get addicted to Bioware-esque RPGs?
And when you switch to other game types suddenly you're wandering around wondering if there's an LI and getting disgusted that you coudln't customize your own character and history or something...
I love Bioware-esque games. Plenty of replayability, and the ability to inject yourself or a character you've thought of into the game. Can't get enough of that.
I am actually in the process of creating a game that is similar to Bioware games. I'm shooting for complex moral decisions and gray shades of morality, although I may throw the Paladins and Demon people a bone too somewhere in there. There will be a tinge of romance in it, but nothing too deep as I am just getting my feet wet creating and writing games.
