yeah and ashley was a xenophode (certainly at the start). wrex was by far and away the best character - because he was a character - garrus and tali didn't become that, or interesting, till the sequel - and garrus in particular, is one of the best characters in #2.

Didn't Harrison Ford have to fight to keep that line over the original line of "I love you too"?Jebel Krong wrote...

I know we've talked about what we want to see in a romance DLC. I have a small request. Have Shepard tell her "you're worth it." A lot of us like to use "worth it" as their code for "I love you, as is. Plus, Miranda's major issue is that she doesn't believe she, as opposed to her abilities, is "worth it."
Thoughts?
Ah, and having finished yet another ME1 run: I want to see an ME1-style love scene in any romance DLC.

he had to fight to keep all his impov lines - he hated the dialogue lucas wrote. he also was so bored during the first one he practised carpentry (which he was gonna do for a living).

Yup, Ford made it up on the spot. I think it was originally written to have him say "I love you too."
And it was great in RotJ when they inverted it and Leia said "I know" to Han. Come on BioWare, let us say "You're worth it" to Miranda!

Did Lucas write all the dialog for the second trilogy without being challenged? That would explain a lot...Jebel Krong wrote...

But how would you bring this to BioWare's attention? I don't think they read support threads beyond the OP, if at all.

yup - he had so much control all he had was macullum sucking his balls the whole time. best thing they did was let genndy tartovsky (sp?) do the animated shorts - they were great.
btw have you seen how they edited the prequels? - splicing footge from any take together seamlessly, no wonder it feels so wooden at times, all the performances were probably different!

Yup, he wrote the prequels. The screenplay for ESB was written by Lawrence Kasdan and some dude I forget, which is why it has the best dialogue. RotJ was step down because it was Kasdan and Lucas on the screenplay.

Yeah those are more creepy than romantic.
Female badass decay is one of my most despised tropes. I mean what man wants to become the woman he loves' Kryptonite anyway? Being in love should make you stronger not wimpier.

We're going pretty deep into Miranda's character here - from big things like her self-esteem and her problematic relationship with Cerberus, her father and her sister, to smaller things like which words Miranda and Shepard would use as a code to express their love, what Miranda might like in food and drink and literature and countless other little things.
I don't read the other support threads regularly, but is there a similar focus there? Or am I correct in my impression that we do a lot more character analysis than other support threads?

Agreed! The sad thing is, I've seen people on thread argue for the suicide option. About the only Miranda-related suicide option I can fathom is if Shep were being indoctrinated by implanted Reaper tech that Miranda knew about.
Fear of that decay is one reason I cling to the "Miranda Shepard, superspy with kids" Though I've really warmed up to the idea of her becoming a researcher for Aldrin Labs/Binary Helix/a revived Sirta Foundation.

Sometimes that happens here as well, but from what I've seen we do a lot more actual discussion about Miranda and her character.
