firecleaner, I'm using the shopworn plot device of faking one's death to elude bad guys. It's not her fault Shepard fell hard or that those bad guys had atrocious timing. This is all in flashback. The main story is what happens when the Lazarus Project reunites them.

I see, cant wait to read it as usual.

Heh thanks. It's as close as I'll ever come to unabashed romance. Though it's still not that fluffy. I don't think that suits Miranda. But if my next story doesn't see me hounded away, nothing will. Certainly not something inspired by Jane Austen.

Rather dark thought: I suspect no one will be happier when Miranda and Shepard have children than her father. He seems to think Miranda is acceptable genetically (Oriana is identical, after all), and Shepard is an exceptional human. A child of theirs would be all his dreams come true from a DNA standpoint. I'm rather surprised it hasn't already occurred to him to create a daughter that uses Shep's DNA as well as Miranda's/Oriana's In effect, a biological child of Shepard and Miranda that he can then raise "properly."



Disclaimer: I have NO desire to see the scenario in ME3. It's just something that crossed my mind.

That's rather excessive jtav. Shepard wasn't genetically engineered. Not to mention her father appears to be too possessive to allow Miranda, if he can help it, to "have" children with someone who he has not personally constructed or modified. If he doesn't get the raise the child in the first place (ie Miranda and Shepard have children out of their own will), I don't see him as liking it.

Collider, I don't think he cares one way or another about Miranda. She's less than nothing, a failed experiment. It's Oriana he wanted. And Shepard is very much held up as the exemplar of humanity. Why wouldn't he want to borrow a few traits from humanity's savior for his genetic dynasty. I suspect any Shepard-Lawson child would be the target of a kidnap attempt posthaste. But I suspect he'd much prefer to grow his own.
