Because they were in the first game. Don't you know the ME cast can do no wrong? *rolls eyes*

Makes me wonder though: how does she know about the husks and rachni? Did TIM tell her? She obviously wasn't on site or she'd be dead. Part of me wants one of those projects to be her idea (in a "husks would make good shock troops" sense not "lets turn an entire colony into husks" sense), but have other people responsible for implementing them in ways that turned into atrocities.

Ah I was not aware of the ME1 rule. Image IPB  Kaidan and Ashley seem to be exempt from that rule though.

What exactly she knows is a point of speculation.  She has access to alot of Cerberus files but clearly not everything.  She seemed to be rather shocked, and honestly shocked, at the details of the Subject Zero project.  Though I am not sure how raising kids to be biotic superpeople was ever going to be ethically squeaky clean.

Since Miranda is important enough to meet TIM personally, I would imagine she knows a lot more about Cerberus ops than normal operatives... maybe not all the details, but the general idea.

That is what I am thinking.  She knows about the other projects and the overall goals of Cerberus but TIM makes sure she only gets info that puts Cerberus and himself in the best light possible.

That makes a lot of sense. Miranda obviously has a bit of a (repressed) conscience, so I'm sure TIM would put her on assignments that wouldn't cause her to question Cerberus.

And COME ON, if Darth is an officer why aren't I???

That's what I think, too. Between her and Grayson, you'd think TIM would learn not to depend on operatives who have morals.

This.

Plus, as has been proved time and time again, in the right conditions, if your told enough times, you can be made to believe anything....

I think at times jtav, and please dont take this the wrong way, your looking for things that really might not exist.

This is pure speculation, but I could also see TIM sending Miranda to eliminate "rogue" cells that are proving troublesome. All he has to do is tell her the horrible things they did (helps if it's true). It gets rid of problem elements and strengthens Miranda's conviction that the "real" Cerberus is essentially good.

How so, Mavi? I didn;t say she thought them up. Part of me just thinks it'd be interesting if it were true that she had.

i would imange that she knows anything Shepard did and that includes his ME1 run ins with Cerberus, but i also think while she knows about it TIM would only allow her to get a certain view of it wouldnt give all the details

That's a really awesome idea. It would surely help to understand Miranda's perspective on Cerberus if it were true.

Perhaps you should write a fanfic on the subject? Or even better, perhaps we should lobby the lead writers to write a comic based on Miranda: Cerberus Cleaner? They must be thinking of new material after Redemption.

It is just a tribute to what a nuanced and complicated character Miri is that we can still have these sorts of discussions months after we started talking about her. It is often not so much what she says it is what she doesn't say. Again, very impressive for a character I initially thought was Ms. Fanservice.

I mean she is presented as 'The Loyalist' but in fact her loyalty to Cerberus is very conditional and dependent on her continuing to believe they are an organization with principles she agrees with and personal factors such as her relationship with her family.

Well...you strive a lot to get into her head....understand her motives....ask a lot of what if's regarding her character....is she really like this, could be she be more like that etc etc...

Rather than just taking her as you see her.

So as I said, sometimes it seems to me (just my opinion) that your looking for things in her personality etc that may not be there...

Maybe she really is a cold hard **** (and I think for the most part she is)...but even cold hard people like Miranda can change....maybe, she is exactly like how she appears, but see's Shep as more superior to TIM....

I love and hate that website.

'Oh crap where did the past five hours go?'

But it helps me enjoy fiction so much more.  Now I will be watching a TV show and think 'aha!  Chekov's gun!'

can someone explain the cold hearted thing to me cause i just dont see it, ive know cold hearted people and people that act one way to defend themself from being hurt and she comes off as the latter to me(if the cold hearted thing includes killing Wilson makes no sense as i remember i wondered why i couldnt kill him the first time i playes cause it was easy to tell his plans)

the "loyalist" thing after playing the game a few times to me comes off more as loyal to things she cares about not Cerberus. i mean she breaks Cerberus rules to help Jacob as she loyal to her friends, she goes out of the way to protect her sister her whole life, was loyal to a old friend up to the point she was a bit blind to his stabbing her in the back

Heyo there...I made silly plushies of the whole ME2 squad and I thought I'd share my Miranda one with this thread. I can't draw or write, so think of this as my version of fanart for a character I thoroughly enjoy. ^_^
