I was reading a Miranda story, and a reviewer complained that Miranda was able to beat Shepard in a hand-to-hand fight because "he's Commander Shepard" It got me thinking: what sort of things might Miranda plausibly be better at than Shepard. She acknowledges that he's got a fire she doesn't and is practically perfect, but the idea that she's second best at everything irks me.

For the record, I suspect that they're pretty evenly matched at hand-to-hand and the winner would come down to other factors.

I think Shep's cybernetic upgrades would give him the hand to hand edge. I think Miranda is a stronger Biotic than Shep (at least in story terms, maybe not gameplay terms).

Speaking of splatting zombies, I got the achievement for killing a witch with a single headshot on the first attempt after you left Flashy.  I took your advice and it worked perfectly, so thanks for that!

She is a scientist/doctor/super genius and Shep has none of those sorts of skills.

I'd say Shepard is probably superior to Miranda in most, if not all, aspects of combat including biotics, but only thanks to his new L5 implants.  As for the genius stuff, Miranda is way ahead of Shepard, on a par with Mordin.

I find those one-shots to be overly mushy and if you break them down its nothing but flirting and sex. As far as hand-to-hand I'd say that Miranda and Shep are evenly matched. She would be faster and he stronger. I still see them as eqauls in almost all areas of combat and espionage/leadership skills, but then again I play an Infiltrator Shep so if I make him a ****** brute I'd feel wrong.

Biotics would probably enable Miri to win sure if Shep is a soldier or engineer.

A man's ability to physically dominate a woman is unfortunately rather well documented throughout all of human history, but hey this is fiction if Miranda needs to beat up on Shep in your story why not?  Maybe her genetics give her super strength beyond that of most women.
