Hi everyone!
I woke up early to go out and rent L4D2. I was successful.
Odin! Well done on L4D2, I ordered it this morning, I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow.

Would this happen to be the quote?CaseyH-ME2: We actually want to make sure these characters survive the ME2 story, which ultimately is a suicide mission: some of your crew will almost certainly die. Some of the ME1 characters are back, and recruitable (more than you might think), and the ones that aren't still play an important role in the story and will be around for ME3 - which we can't say for the new characters.
Well when you think about it, they couldn't say anything about the ME2 characters regarding ME3 because then that would be giving potential spoilers. That and obviously some of them we know have a chance of not being around anyway even if they did survive the suicide mission.
Miranda if she survives the suicide mission is naturally going to stay on because her goal has always been to help combat the reapers.
In my opinion people are making far too big a thing out of this. Naturally aided by some of the sad low lifes that are bitter at how their ME faves were handled in ME2. Though once again it falls down to the aforementioned quote making something bigger than it really was.

this - compared to the sea of bull**** out there, this thread is a haven. i mean how many threads under this new forum structure are just full of whingeing morons - lately those complaining about playing a very cheap price for AAA quality kasumi dlc.Sleepy Buddha wrote...

I just don't want to be the cause of this thread getting closed. That is all I'm worried about.
I think if they closed our thread for that, they'd have to close the others as well.
It's just not possible to write endlessly about characters we only got to explore for the duration of 1 or 2 games.
And I think our exploration and examination of Miranda's character has been much more in-depth than that of other support threads.

Yes, there is indeed a cricket bat! That is my official weapon of choice, just like in Shaun of the Deadandysilv87 wrote...

Can you really use a cricket bat? Because that is just awesome. As long as you don't go around shouting "4,4,6,wide,duck,silly point" etc.

I wish I had your confidence. I remember I came up with a scenario to cameo Miranda that was plausible enough to bother Ieldra, of all people. And I don't even get paid to write.

Also, I have a list of reasons why I think Miranda's romance will be built upon in the third game:
1. Of all the romances available in the second game, I think Miranda's feels the most natural. She is a natural leader, like Shepard, and the two are so similar in a great deal of different aspects. Likewise, she is the character in the second game with the strongest connection towards you; I mean she did head the Lazarus Project that brought you back and throughout the Redemption series, she seemed to develop an obsession with acquiring your body.
2. Miranda plays too pivotal of a role to just scrap her and leave her behind. She has a massive role in the story-line of the game and also happens to be one of the crew members that is the hardest to kill in the suicide mission. In fact, the only time I recall anyone being able to do it is if you got the ending where Shepard dies. Assuming this information is true, I think it shows us that Miranda is so hard to kill because BioWare has her as a character of importance in the third game.
3. As mentioned on the first page, Ashley Williams could easily equate to fire as Miranda can to ice. Since the characters are from polar opposite ends of the spectrum and I can imagine will be butting heads in the third game (assuming Williams can be recruited), I cannot see how BioWare would possibly just let Miranda slip by as a character. One of the themes that was prevalent in the second game was not only the flaws in the characters themselves, but how the other characters responded to these flaws. I can easily forsee BioWare keeping these two characters as part of your crew simply because they would continue that theme in the third game.

I always wonder why people think that "it's nothing personal" is any kind of justification. This is the only time I get angry at her.Valmy wrote...

As long as I'm brainstorming:
Has Miranda ever met Paul Grayson that we know of? Does she ever talk about the attack on the Idenna? If she does, how does she justify it?
Yes she does at the very beginning of the game at Freedom's Progress. She doesn't justify it exactly as say it was nothing personal. My memory is hazy on that point.

In a vain attempt to live up to my title:
Is there anything that could be revealed about Miranda in ME3 that would destroy your affection for her. I have two:
1) Her father was merely cold or distant and had never done anything to warrant taking Oriana. I take a dim view of child kidnappers and an even dimmer view of being manipulated so thoroughly.
2) She knowingly implanted Reaper tech into Shepard and knew there was a risk of indoctrination.
I don't rate either scenario as likely.

I think #2 is actually a likely scenario, but it won't cause me to lose respect for her or anything.
