Oh god, it's The Pacific again? I only just got caught up with parts 3&4. Not that I'm complaining of course.

well known and documented that the position your bed faces (north, south etc) affects the way you dream and sleep.

I doubt changing my bed is going to help... my problem is likely physical (as in some form of brain damage).

Edit: Removed the dying part. The brain damage is likely because I was clinically dead for 5 minutes much earlier in my life.
