I still like Meer's voice work 90% of the time, I just wish he wasn't so monotone. I barely play FemShep's but I have done and I can't say I understand the love Hale gets for the work. She sounds okay but so damn miserable all the time.

I liked Kaidan in ME, but I will cheerfully agree with you about ME2. Too generic. As for the ME2 romances, the only one I'm even mildly interested in is Thane, but I can't help but wonder why he couldn't be human. It's not all about looks, but he's alien enough to throw me.

Speaking of Jennifer Hale, I joke about being a bad fan, but this time it's true. I've noticed I sometimes hear Bastila or 90s Felicia Hardy's voice, not Yvonne's in my head when I read Miranda's lines. Guess I need to play the game again.

As for your question earlier Ieldra, ME2 I currently have 8 characters, 4 MaleShep, 4 FemShep.

Personally I don't see the loss in personality of the 'same' sex characters. Sure you miss out on the obvious 'flirty' side of things but nothing to make them seem detached, well... unless I intentionally treat them like objects/tools... although only character I've really done that with is my 'Humanity/Cerberus dominance' Shep *points to avatar* whom of course came out of the suicide mission with just Miranda, Jacob, Zaeed and has since recruited Kasumi. Or the other day when I did my 'no one loyal' playthrough and I pretty much avoided talking to anyone other than to a couple of them to unlock some systems (Tuchanka, Rosetta Nebula).

With my main female paragon shep, I consider Miranda to be a good friend as well as ally.

Only FemShep romance I will NOT be doing is Jacob (for obvious reasons lol), I like Thane and Garrus romance. Likewise only MaleShep romance I won't touch with a barge pole is Tali, she just ISN'T a LI as far as I'm concerned.

My main objection to interspecies romance is that populations who can't procreate with each other almost never are attractive to each other for the obvious reasons, and even they were at some time, they'd evolve away from being attractive to each other very fast. Convergent evolution can't account for that. "Hot alien chicks" and their male counterparts are just complete nonsense. But I've already said enough about that.

I agree about Thane being too alien even with his all-too-human body shape.

Why although I admit that a lot of the tension exists solely in my head. But there should have been fantastic tension in game. At least I've found a way to justify a semi-healthy romance with Miranda.

Also, it gives me an excuse to listen to Les Mis again. "Empty Chairs..." sets the mood.

Not entirely sure
if you need to, although you would probably at least need to create the
folders for it, so that ME2 is able to search for the save files.

Meh, I was going to do that LI with my
FemShep that is cheating on Liara but with the ME2 LI dying
during the Suicide run, but I just can't bear to go through with it,
like the one I was going to do the Tali LI with but ended up with Jack
pre-suicide and then Miranda post-suicide after Jack had died during the
ship ride.

Actually feel a bit bad with the latter one, as was tempted to leave it till ME3 to see if Shep will get a chance to LI any of the previous 2 games LIs (if alive) or maybe a new one.

@Jtav regarding 'who returns' topics, I am getting seriously fed up with them too, specially as you say it always brings out the worse in people and always ends up having the same set of people coming in giving their biased/whining opinion just because their ME faves got sidelined in ME2. I am seriously beginning to believe that some of the so called 'Liara' fans are far, far worse than 'Tali' fans.

regarding 'Empty Chairs', that would actually make for a rather cool background song for an ME video me thinks.

Having Shep reminiscing over lost comrades.... from before ME, during ME (Virmire and possibly Wrex) and after the end of ME2

Mark Meer did a great job in ME2, he had his struggles in ME1 though.

As for Shep's backgroubd, I suppose I love the angst, even though the obvious is ignored in-game. Something about ME and Miranda brings out that side of me. Also, it's easier for me to imagine Shep as an exceptionally skilled and determined soldier, which I prefer to "biggest badass in the galaxy"

Yeah it just goes beyond my suspension of disbelief that alien species would be that attractive to each other.  I mean barring some sort of unusual fetish.

At least the Asari as supposed to do that but I only romance the humans.  Nothing against the other species but...come on Garrus and Tali are freaking TOXIC to me and vice versa.  That is just not smart.

Love is a many splendor thing, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need is love! (No the above linky is not 'The Elephant Medley' from Moulin Rouge, will give you a clue, Valmy said it in caps ) LI doesn't have to be about sex.... romance can be found in any form, even if lethal.

Hey fire. Yeah, it's pretty sleepy here at the moment. As for Liara, I had 1 playthrough with a Liara romance but that was all. Nothing wrong with her though, I just preferred Ash.

I had no problem with Ash my team was Liara and Ash since I was an infiltrator.... but I dont know I never liked Ash maybe it was xenophobia.
