"No... it is."

That was my favorite convo also.  She sounded so desperate for you to say 'no I don't want to do this' and allow her to avoid being vulnerable...yet also desperate that you would admit you loved her to.

The sexual tension in the previous convo was hotter but that was really heart warming.

The only downside of it is if you do it too early you could be facing 20 hours of gametime waiting for the relationship to proceed to the next level.

Regarding keep/destroying the Collector base..

It's all perception, to be honest - keeping it would give you a much needed edge over the Reapers, should it's information turn up anything incredibly valuable - but who knows?

It reminds me of the choice to keep the wife's body on Shamesh or whatever his name is - supposedly there'd be some advancements in shielding technology against the Geth - but if you turn them towards your side during Legion's loyalty mission.. is it needed anymore? Not likely.

Who knows what will turn up from your decision? I destroyed it - not because I hated TIM and Cerberus, hell - I love them, but because I perceived the whole thing to be an abomination. To be one of those things that would constantly remind my Shepard of his failings at not being able to protect humanity.

People died on that mission to destroy that base - to not do such after them giving up everything would be to spit on their name, in my opinion.

TO EACH THEIR OWN!

@shinobi - You can't force good writing. It's something you need to take your time with and write as you go. When you get those sparks - let your imagination run loose. One of the things I did when I was working on my story with Meg was to just write a scene.. maybe related/maybe not related to the story in general, but to just write a scene that came to my head. Most of those scenes ended up in our final story.

For example, the fight with the mech? I had an excerpt written about fighting a mech when I was initially writing the story - and voila! It turned into being the conclusion to the fight with Toombs. :D

Let your imagination free - and who knows what you'll end up writing. ;)

When she asks you not to die.  If you answer 'No Promises' then...well...you get that exchange.

I missed it my first time, I was scared off by it being a Renegade option. But now it's the only response that fits IMO.

the mission wasn't really to destroy the base.  the mission was the eliminate the collector threat.  if you EMP it, it's still doing the same thing...right?

No - just by leaving the base you are giving a chance for any Collector technology to get into the wrong hands - thus allowing the threat of it to continue.

Power corrupts - and with the power to build your own reaper? You can bet some serious indoctrination is going to happen should that technology get into the wrong hands.

i don't see why you can't save the base, jump back, and broadcast to the alliance and the council telling them to go there and recover the base.

I think that tech was one of the things that we wish we could unmake. The bodies of millions of people are still in that thing and if TIM get his hands on it, he could start throwing alien species or even other humans inside, just to see how it works.

Especially if TIM figures out indoctornation. What if he uses it on the Council or even the Alliance? Cerberus is humanity? Have the ability to make his own laws or turn heads away from his projects? No accountability, no one to stop him, and no one to draw the line if he goes to far, which we all know he probably will.

The people inside are dead. We honored their memories by nuking the bastards that killed them.

The council lost me at "Ah yes, 'Reapers'". You could tell the Alliance about it, but both Cerberus and the Reapers know exactly where it is... IMHO the risk is not worth it.

And send thousands upon thousands of ships to their deaths?

As far as we know, the Normandy is the only ship with the IFF capable of getting through the Omega 4 relay safely.

@Rath:

No, if you opt to save the Collector base, after you talk to TIM, he hits a button and see's a few ships clear the relay and head for the base.

Yvonne, your father's an electronics engineer, that's what I'm studying. We have a lot in common! Forget these pawns!

(It's true, her dad's an electronics engineer hehe)
