Nah, it was just unexpected when you suddenly starting doing that. You can certainly do bothjtav wrote...
Maybe so, PA, but everyone seems (jokingly) shocked when I say I found something romantic or come up with a positive scenario. I can't do both?

I dislike the location, but not the scene as such. I'd like it to be moved, and being able to select an alternative path would be nice. But scrapping it altogether, no, I wouldn't like that.jtav wrote...
I think it depends on the dev. I usually enjoy Gaider's romances. Not to be sexist, but I wonder if it's a gender issue. Presumably the romance was written to appeal to men. My natural preference would be to scrap the engine room scene and replace it with mine, but I suspect that wouldn't go over well.
Edit:
I like that it comes across without the least bit of solemnity, while still getting across that it has a great deal of meaning for Shepard and Miranda. It's also this "let's come together before the world blows up in our faces" mood. And no, I do not think it only appeals to stereotypical male teenagers - I am not one.

Valmy: sof-ty. Seriously, replace "men" with "stereotypical teenage male who primarily appreciates Miranda for fanservice" I fear we romantics are outnumbered, at least as a percentage of ME players.
I think the Bioware core fans are mostly romantics. We play these games for the characters.
Heck I have always just done the fights to get the next plot point for as long as I can remember. Games are just another way, the best way IMO, of telling stories and exploring characters.
Sure the game would be less interesting without the fights, but I never play in the higher difficulties, just high enough that the enemies are not total pushovers, but still let me get through with some speed and with death being very rare. Those missions where you have a lot of character interaction in-between are the best.

It really is sad that this is true, how some people just don't even try to look at her character. Miranda deserves much better.

I agree.
But I don't think romantics are outnumbered.

Yes, it's very sad. But you know what it's like, a character gets popular and people decide it would be "cool" to start hating on said character. It's the way of the internet unfortunately.

How long was it between Miranda's escape and when she joined Cerberus? I figure it was no longer than a few weeks, and probably more like a few days. I never really thought about it, but she would have essentially been functioning as a surrogate parent for Oriana during the interim: feedin her, changing diapers, etc. Even though she's smart enough to know it would be a truly horrible idea for her to even attempt to raise her, you know she bonded with the kid. Must have hurt like hell to give her away, knowing she'd never see her again.
I would say about a week most likely. As she says it, her father is very wealthy and has alot of contacts, he knows she works for Cernerus, which will bring some problems since she quits Cerberus and stays with Shepard. Lets hope her father is scared of Shepard

A quick sketch of Shepard & Miranda kissing?!

Do you feel loved when you see this?

About the hate thread: eh, people will like who they dislike. Garrus and Wrex rank near the bottom for me (especially Garrus). No character is universally loved. I'm actually surprised the group's not larger. Elsewhere on the net, I've been met with astonishment when I said Miranda was my favorite.

If he's got any sense, he'll not start anything - no matter what background Shep has, there is a certain elemental force of nature/irrestible force aspect to Shep that tends to bode ill for those who cross him/her.

On a related note, am I the only one who thinks she and Shep would be even more formal with each other in front of the crew once they're in public. I can see them almost making a game of who could be more scrupulous about protocol.

Dumb question, but what would Miranda's day-to-day duties aboard the Normandy be? She can't be spending all that time writing reports. XOs are supposed to handle administrative and personnel matters, but I'm unsure what that means on a non-military vessel. The only thing I can think of is she's in charge of making sure they don't run out of supplies and things like that.
Cerberus has arranged to transport Rolston's family off New Canton and send them to Earth at no expense.
Crewman Rolston: Another colony's gone missing.
Crewman Patel: Ferris Fields -- I heard. That's not far from New Canton. Did you family get back to Earth?
Crewman Rolston: Not yet. My mother-in-law is giving us grief.
Crewman Rolston: Operative Lawson assures me the transport team will physically drag them away if need be.
I think thats the only ingame explanation of Miranda's duties other than writing reports for Cerberus. Its not even very informative.

I think Miranda has been with Cerberus for far longer than a week before Project Lazarus as well, mainly because Miranda would of had to be 'tested' by the Illusive Man for a bit before being tasked with the single greatest project Cerberus has arguably undertaken.

Nah I would resent sharing electrons with anybody who makes an anti-character group.
