*sheepish* Thanks.I need to get my eyes checked.

No worries, it is an easy mistake to make. Perfect example of such mistakes is in Empire Strikes Back, a lot of people believed (and some possibly still do) that Han Solo's Hoth coat was blue. It wasn't, it was actually brown, the only reason it looks blue was due to the lighting used, which was mainly of blue (even Chewie in some scenes looks blue rather than brown). :wizard:

I'm not sure if anyone asked this question ,but Miranda and Jacob, how? I personally could not see any type of relationship they could of had together. I cant imagine Miranda pursuing Jacob,or her withstanding THE PRIZE line. As for Jacob I dont see the appeal.

Jacob was the big hero in Mass Effect Galaxies.  Different people wrote him in that game also.

Am I the only one who finds it amusing and a little frustrating that Miranda actually comes off as friendlier than Jacob post-Freedom's Progress? I kind of miss the ruthless streak that she displayed in Lazarus Station. I'd also find it easier to believe that "femme fatale" description of that Miranda.

Well she is only friendlier to Shepard after Freedom's Progress.  To everybody else she acts pretty much the same.

One thing I will say is that, story aside, I don't think Miranda had anything to do with Akuze. I don't want her to have had anything to do with Akuze, even innocently. Revealing that she'd been unknowingly complicit in some atrocity would have set up her doubts a bit better but I'd prefer something that didn't affect Shep directly. It works better if he's her conscience, not her accuser. But it would be nearly pointless to do this in ME3. She's already lost faith/resigned.

Don't worry. She had a problem with a few people getitng liquefied. She wouldn't approve of setting up 50 marines to die.  The game pretty much takes care of this one.

And man, I still can't believe there were that many upsets in the first NHL playoff games, lol.

Hah, Udina would do something like that...not Shep, no way.

Ruthless Shep isn't a coward, but the whole point of the origin is that he/she didn't give a crap about the troops dying and never lost a second of sleep over it.

I can't help but think you see Ruthless Shep as a War Hero whose "glorious charge" went horribly wrong... There's nothing wrong with that and it would make for a better War Hero origin imo, but it just isn't what Ruthless Shep is all about.

Also, Pure Ruthless Shep and Miranda? Not happening.

I also find it rather odd since Wilson constantly mentions that she's an ice queen before you really meet her (waking up to an Angel staring down over you not-withstanding ;)). If anything, I think she thaws way too quickly, but that may just be because of time restraints/cut content during development for the sake of pacing.

Also, I disagree with you jtav, I think that Miranda usually doesn't form (sexual) relationships at all, Jacob, Shephard and possibly a couple of others throughout her life after her escape from her father seems to be, in my opinion, the few that she's had. I can't really figure her as a 'friends with benefits' type of woman, but I also can't see her as someone who 'falls in love' all the time. Perhaps she's only really had that with Shephard (biased!) and possibly Jacob.

Despite what Shephard says in regards to that nature of Niket's relationship with Miranda (I always thought of it as if Shep was asking her if it was a romantic relationship), I took from it that Miranda and Niket were more like a brother-sister relationship with Niket fulfilling the role of surrogate brother.

i agree with a lot of this.

i put miranda's friendlier attitude initially down to not actually being in the pressure sitaution of "running" the mission - i.e.being in command and this then lets her relax a bit. plus opening up to shepard a little in their first conversations on the normandy puts them both more at ease with each other, despite still being of opposing viewpoints (about cerberus) and (if you take the option) the current mission.

as for jacob, well he has some good qualities i suppose, but it seems more likely that it was just carried on because jacob was the *player* character in galaxy, rather than anything else (i notice his design changed quite a bit during the course of me2's development), but i really don't see what miranda would have seen in him to form a relationship with, unless it was just a physical fling.

I'm pretty sure as well that Miranda doesn't love Jacob (at least, not to the same extent as compared to Shephard), but she still cares a lot about him.

Don't you mean brunette femme fatale vs hot blonde spy next door? Image IPB
I'd rather not have to choose between them - it would make BrainOS melt down.

Hmm. She does come across as sexually experienced, so where does that come from? She doesn't love lightly, possibly Shepard's the first she really loves after a very long time of trusting no one. She's also not the type for short flings. Or is she?

Perhaps the best explanation is that she took her fun where she could on Cerberus assignments, taking an affair with a target further than required if he was attractive and interesting enough. Yes....I've just come up with this idea, but it already fits my mental image of her so naturally it can't be dislodged. Strangely, it also makes me like her more.

I'll take a guess that you haven't watch Star Wars.

She was a young woman once who had her fun.

But she is now in her 30s and wants something more significant if she can find it.  Nothing more than that I suspect.

Yes, I have. When it first came out in 1977, among other times. I also get the joke, I've played the KotOR games, have read quite a few SW books and I'm familiar with a lot of SW lore. That doesn't change my reaction to this face - it was a reaction to its ugliness. Posting Ugly Shepard in the same size would have had the same result. It's just something I'd prefer not to see in a Miranda love thread.
