Ok mate, I'll talk to you tomorrow. Now to wait for some company...

Tomorrow I should finish my current playthrough and get to work on the start of my short story.  Might have the intro ready for preview as well.

Ooooh, I'll look forward to reading it then if it's ready. Don't rush yourself though.

I still don't have a plot for mine, not really anyway. I know which characters I want to use though...bet you can't guess 2 of them? Lol.

I read the edit Darth. It makes total sense. I'll probably replace the new info in there on the final edit.

Thank you then, Ieldra.

Good to know that someone dared to defend our dear Miranda.

Love that pics with Yvonne... thanx, now i can move on with my depression.

Does anyone else think that Miranda’s special power "slam" is ironic? I found that humorous. Especially crippling slam...

Changing the subject entirely, something I thought of whilst at work today. I know we had the whole "Johnny" thread going for a while on the old one, but I just ended up feeling sorry for him. I mean, c'mon, you're this random guy whom the daughter of the galaxy famous Commander Shepard finds attractive and wants to take you to meet the family. You most likely will end up meeting legends in one form or another, such as the Warlord of Tuchanka and his right hand krogan, aka Wrex and Grunt, a Quarian admiral (Tali), an asari maiden, if not matriarch of quite significant power and prestige (Liara), a really scary arse Turian member of the Hierarchy (Garrus) and a number of prominent humans/members of the Alliance (Miranda etc..)

If they weren't ****ting bricks at the thought of meeting that lot at an outdoor cooking event...

"Hi, I'm Johnny"

"So, how do you know Shepard?"

"I'm dating his daughter."

"Oh, really?" or "You've got quads."

Ok, let me preface this by saying i think Miranda is a very nice piece of art, and that when i played thru ME2 the first time there was no doubt she would be my romance option of choice as, if i were shepard, she would be the one i was most attracted to for sure. Now, this thread seems to be very popular with a ton of people loving Miranda, which is perfectly fine. And let me also say that i am in no way trying to judge anyone in any way, i am just curious. Is the infatuation with Miranda based more on a crush on the real life actress she is modeled after (don't know how to spell her name), who is very good looking and from what i've heard a good actress (haven't seen chuck, although i will check it out some time) or based more on the actually digital woman Miranda? I am genually curious.

I just wanted to let people know that I have to put my Miri fanfic on hold. I had planned to release the first two chapters this weekend, but I will no longer be near my computer until Monday. Finally got the news and have to take that trip. Sorry about the delay.

Not for me, I ended up liking the actress after I played the game and saw her work. I was playing the game and Miranda was just the one that seemed the best written and most interesting character to me. She was just one of those characters that juts grabs hold of you and wont let go.

I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but I feel confidant in saying that the majority of us really love and appreciate Miranda as a character and not because of who she is modeled after or voiced by.

In my case, I had never watched Chuck or even heard of Yvonne Strahovski until I played ME2. My attachment to Miranda spawned my obsession with Chuck and all things Yvonne, not the other way around.

I also know for a fact, that quite a few people don't even like Chuck and/or have never seen Yvonne act outside of what she did in ME2.

We often post pictures of Yvonne and get in off-topic discussions about Chuck, but it's all in good fun. We also have some really heavy discussions on the tiniest aspects of Miranda and her story. If you're interested in Miranda at all, I would definitely recommend sticking around for a bit and participating in a Miranda discussion or two. You'll see for yourself that we care about Miranda, and see her as more than just a pretty face.

Biotic slam ironic? why?

And answering to you, Asaosoa (too much of O and A), maybe its working like that, but just a little bit.
its not only about this stunning look of hers, but about character. Yes, we love Yvonne, but this is Miranda thread and we repeat that often, writing posts not only about the appearance but also about behaviour. we discussed every moment of her life, decisions, etc. you can a read a lot what we are writing here.
tis is not such a cult like Tali's, we joke here a lot and this 'adoration' is a form of humour too. its not very serious. of course we are drooling over nice pics, but hey... Miri based on Yvonne is a pretty character. And we talk about Yvonne cause we treat them like one person xD
i do not know how to explain it.

Kabraxal, dont worry about delay. i am sure its worth it.

edit: i agree with posts over. this is exactly what i meant. thats its all because she is great character, not about Yvonne- i heard about her, like others, from this thread, after finishing the game.

Ah, sorry to hear that. Now what will I do with my weekend?!

In all seriousness, I hope your trip goes well, Kabraxal.

We'll be sure to hold down the fort until you can honor us with the fanfic to end all others. ;)

Ok, less flippant this time. I knew of the actress before ME2. I was going to get ME2 because I enjoyed ME1, but her VA'ing a character just added weight to my decision to buy it. In all honesty, originally, I only romanced the character because she was billed as the 'perfect woman' and was modelled after an actress whom I thought was hotter than a hot thing on a hot day. However, once I got to know the character, I was surprised at the depth to her and how much was left unspoken, but conveyed through voice acting and body language. It that that made me sit up and look seriously, rather than in any flip manner.

Speaking of Johnny, I think we should bring him back if even for a short time. I've looked over the old thread and it was quite funny.

ok, well i don't know if can do 147 pages but after your responses i think i will go back and try to get a good feel for this thread. The responses so far were pretty much what i expected, and i do like seeing other peoples views on characters, especially ones i find interesting myself. I wonder if ME will eventually go the way of halo and star wars and get a huge expanded universe where a lot of these characters are really hashed out.....

Yeah, that's what got me thinking while I was at work. It'd be downright scary for someone trying to go out with one of the Lawson-Shepard kids. Just think of all the places they get to go on holiday!

"So, Al, how was your holiday?"
"Great! I went camping with relatives. We had a great time!"
"Wonderful! Where did you go?"
"Tuchanka. I managed to bring down, skin and cook a varren alpha all by myself!"
"..."
"What?"
"Who did you go camping with?"
"Uncle Wrex and Grunt! Well, I call them Uncle, but they're not really my uncles..."

@Kabraxal: Oh, Rath and I are in the planning stages of another one right now. It's turned out to be far more complex than we initially intended so we're still trying to iron out the details. Hopefully it will pay out in the end though!

@Prudii: Lol. That's good. I hadn't thought of interactions with the other crew members. I can totally see Joker taking their kid to his first strip club or something.

Maybe they should release a DLC in which the crew of the Normandy must all individually purchase a crappy shuttle and then race each other to the Citadel from Omega?
