On the subject of the engine room scene, I think it has a lot to do with Miranda's sexual interests.
What do you guys think her sexual preferences are? They don't really dip into this, and I kind of wish they would have seeing as how it seems so pertinent to the romance scene and her choice in locations.

Miranda's kind of a control freak, to put it mildly. Of course she likes setting the pace, lol.

From what I've been told, people who are somewhat controlling in professional life often tend to be the opposite in their sex life, except I really can't see Miranda in that role. There's also the question of how our Shepards would put up with it. Personally, I hate the symbolism of these practices. Even talking about it, having images put into my mind by discussing it, makes me a bit queasy. It's almost as bad as the Tali doll. Don't take me wrong, i'll put up with it for the sake of discussion. But my Shepards won't go there, and I'll never read any fanfic going there as well.

Instead, I imagine they'll have a lot of sparring sessions degenerating into something more intimate. I can see love scenes having some element of a fight in them, with both sides occasionally giving in on purpose to keep things interesting. And I can see them using biotics in inventive ways as I hinted at in my fanfic on page 117. IIRC, Mordin hints at such things as well.

I really have to start another maleShep. Strange. If this goes on, I'll soon have more male game characters in ME2 than in all other games of the last 15 years added up, just because of Miranda.

^^ i could imagine the pysical side of the relationship being very much that, with probably a surprising amount of tenderness at times from miranda, given the contradictions in her personality. dominance would be interesting too because i can't see shep not being so, yet in the romance scene, miranda is generally on top (at lest to start).

Both are dominating peronalities, when they are in the room then people take notice. So their love life would be two strong forces co-existing together but in the end I believe Shep would lead, Miri understands that this area is his true strength. But I guess that roles would interchange come bedtime.

As far as I'm concerned, you've posted more controversial stuff, my **shudder** reaction notwithstanding. But I admit I was somewhat surprised.

BTW, what do you think: would Miranda appreciate flying one of these sleek aircars we see everywhere? For some strange reason, I can see her having a lot of fun on fast rides - with herself in control, of course.

Ugh, that would be a truly annoying trait. Why not have her make lists of these things in her head and joke about them later when having a snack with some friends.

Oh, I think she'd LOVE it. I think she's something of adrenaline junkie, and I think driving fast (within reason -- she isn't going to get anyone killed) is one way she gets her fix.

Briefly returning to the whole 'bedroom preferences' section for a mo - my sources tell me that it's all about trust. Also, considering that both can be quite 'take charge' sorts, I would guess that who's Top and who's Bottom depends on how they feel at the time, circumstances and general mood.
To be honest, I think that the implicit trust involved would be the kicker for Miranda - knowing that there is one person in this world she can truly be herself with, that she's with him and he feels the same towards her. What that does for her once it all fades to black, well...
