Have I mentioned how much I love that she never needs rescuing.
I'm going to have to go against the grain here, to an extent. Possibly my favourite sequence in ME2 was when Shep caught Miri as she slid off the platform, followed by her returning the favour moments later. Even strong and independent people are allowed to rely on others occasionally. It's one of the best things about having evolved as social creatures, if you ask me.

I love it. I also love that even a romanced
Shep isn't the most important person in her life. It will always be
Oriana. Paradoxically, that makes her a better LI because she isn't
swallowed up by Shep.
Hm. Again, I'll have to disagree. I've got to ask, do you have siblings? I've got three, myself. And while we don't always
like each other, there's a great deal of love between us. Nonetheless, I find the idea of them always being the most important people in my life deeply depressing.
Once again, that could just be me - I'm something of a romantic, as I believe I've already confessed. None of that "love at first sight" bollocks (until you get to know each other, it's just hormones), and none of that "the one" nonsense either (I crunched the numbers, once, and worked out that even if you could recognize each other instantly from a fleeting glimpse (which is, as I stated above, total crap) you'd still only stand something like a 1:700 000 chance of actually meeting this person), but for all that, I
do in fact believe in "true love". And if you're lucky enough to find it, even blood relatives are going to have to take a back seat.
