It would essentially require them to make 2 Miranda's: one an in love blushing flower and another a single badass.  I highly doubt they will do that.

Not so. The romance conversations aren't heard by players who don't romance her. I doubt Miranda will suffer from female badass decay overmuch, but the danger exists. It's easy. Use a writer who doesn't appreciate her independent competence and you're there.

If she's portrayed as clingy or weak in her romance dialogue, that's all it takes.

I'm kind of curious how the ME3 romance will be structured, if there is one. Bioware hasn't really written established relationships since TOB. Sex right before the final battle isn't going to work this time.

I guess it depends on what she says and how she says it.  Alot of us say overly melodramatic things in the early throws of wuv sweet wuv that are not necessarily true, but it sorta feels like it at the time.  'I need you' 'I want to be with you always' blah blah.

Would that be in or out of character?

On one hand she does have a very deep rooted desire to be loved and accepted but on the other those same feelings would make it unlikely she would totally relax and let herself be vulnerable.  It seems to me she will always hold a little of herself back and never want herself to appear weak to Shep anyway since for her being percieved as competent is so very important as well.

And they really didn't do those that well IMO.  They were not very memorable in TOB...but that might just be because there was SO MUCH crammed in that little expansion.

I rather liked Viconia's romance, epilogue excepted.

Mostly I want confirmation that the romance is making her happier. Have her laugh more, smile more when Shepard's around. Let them flirt and tease.

We probably won't know anything until we get the game in our hot little hands...or in my case downloaded to my HD.  Right now I am just anxious to hear that Yvonne Strahovski is going to appear again.

Yeah, hopefully that's the sort of info we might get a little earlier than solid game information. Here's hoping anyway.

Actually they do not make a habit of announcing this sort of thing....I remember finding out Adam Baldwin was ME2 when he mentioned it in passing at an interview at Comiccon last year.

And I bet the status of the ME2 squad is one of the last things we'll learn.

Ah, well. Back to worrying about important things like whether my mage in DAO will romance Leliana or Zevran. Okay guy, except he doesn't see what's so wrong with blood magic as long as he's not using it for mind control.

I romanced them both.  The only one I have not romanced is Alistair.

They are both rather sweet, cracking Zev's shell is a little bit more interesting though just because Leliana is rather romantic just in how she is.  Zev is cynical so he has a bit more character development in his arc.

But YMMV.

I do recall knowing Miranda and Jacob were going to be on our squad VERY early on.  It was because they appeared in that E3 video with the Dantius towers and they were also in Galaxy so people recognized them.

Yvonne is a high profile actor and likely cost more money than at least some of the other voice actors - making her a cameo or her not returning at all is not making good on their investment.

Well she is to us because we are fanboys but Keith David is alot more high profile and all he got was a cameo....just sayin

Valmy has a point. I had no idea who she was before I played the game. Our best argument for a returning Miranda is that the main plot was essentially put on hold to introduce these characters.

If ME3 romances are structured like DAO then they will be amazing /discussion

Well, I just made my first couple of posts on the Tali thread. It's interesting. I like Miranda more but Tali's who I identify with, partly because I read the whole suit thing as code for disability, particularly when it comes to her romance.

Actually, I'm surprised she and Miranda don't have a confrontation, considering Ascension.

Don't see why Jtav, Miri was not involved in that operation at all and that one went rouge because of Pel tried to sell Gillien to the Collectors, Golo decided he wanted to kill all the Quarians (which was not the plan) and Paul told TIM to F off (reason why TIM is getting his revenage in the next book)

Miranda wasn't involved with Teltin. Didn't stop Jack. And she does dismiss the attack as nothing personal.

Miranda really does seem to have a problem with empathy sometimes.

They did for a second but Tali clearly trusts Shepard.  Tali is not really one to stir up stuff and compromise a team for personal reasons.

Yep she is task oriented not feelings oriented.

Realy? Then why did she and Legion argue? and whats funny is that the top choice is to tell Tali to stop it, just like for the Jack and Miri argument the top option is to tell Miri to stop it.

Because Tali was not stirring up anything, Legion was sending back classified Quarian information to the Geth.  That is just a bit different than picking a fight for something that happened before with a person who was not even there.

It was nothing personal, the thing was to get Gillien back with only some caustlies. Golo was the one who turned it to a bloody war. Miri has feelings, she just does not show them that much and if she does, well just look at her personal quest or the dialog before the romance is locked (and no, I am not talking about the top choice, the middle choice, then bottom choice)
