Who doesn't like those types of movies? I mean, really. Casablanca has essentially been the litmus test for good taste for the better part of the last century, and I don't see that state of affairs changing any time soon.


Also, Amateur Magician Shep = comedy gold. Someone must do something with this.

I suppose I could praise it some more, but I saw the uncut version of Red Cliff this afternoon, so I'm not quite in the mood to swoon over anything that isn't some violent melodramatic chinese epic, lol.

Anyway, Miranda would probably approve of it. She'd probably think it would have to be some sort of secret guilty pleasure, though.

My Shep isn't entirely same either. Sole Survivor. Undiagnosed PTSD Got a flashback on Tuchanka with the thresher maw and froze. Maranda saved his life. That was pretty much the moment he started to treat her as more than a Cerberus mouthpiece.

I do get you want some plot device to justify Sole Survivor not hatin' Miranda. Still,  the notion of an undiagnosed PTSD is an affront to Anderson's awesomeness since he totally vouched for Shep as a Spectre.   Incidental affront, but still waaaayyyy not cool. One cannot stress enough how awesome he is, even one is crazed enough to disregard the Keith David variable. The Captain deserves better.


A random tactical f*** up with Miranda saving Shep and proving she truly has his back would suffice, wouldn't it? I urge you to reconsider, lol.  And yes, this is me advocating Shep abuse over Anderson abuse. Leave the old guard alone

On a lighter note...

How would play out a three-way convo between Miranda and her shoulder Angel and Devil?

Would Devil Miri scoff at every Paragon interrupt? Would Angel Miri approve with some of them for the sake of ammo supplies and not having to deal with local enforcement?

Does Angel Miri think Default Shep is a lazy slob for not properly shaving? Does Devil Miri think it's kinda hot or does she totally approve?

I don't think Miri would have a shoulder Angel/Devil. More like a shoulder Reason/Emotion, hence why after you first rescue her sister, she clearly is interested in Shepherd but then pulls away, stating the need to desist from personal entanglements on such an important mission. For the Paragon interrupts, as long as they don't detract from the mission, I don't think Devil Miri would care. If the Paragon route requires deviating from the mission without serving a mission-specific purpose, I think both Devil Miri and Angel Miri would disapprove.

What do Miranda and Shepard do as a couple when not saving the galaxy? Besides the obvious.

My Earthborn Shepard and Miranda will miss open water while travelling the galaxy. I like to imagine they'll buy a place overlooking the sea somewhere and going swimming, boating etc.. Miranda would love speedboats. I also second the dancing - classical dancing. Miranda likes it, and Shepard....hrmph...let's say he has a lot to learn, but he's got the physical coordination so it shouldn't be a problem. In one of the the post-ME3 lives I've imagined for them they're regularly seen at a masked ball during the Venetian carnival (assuming they have kept the city from sinking).

I just *love* chinese epic/action movies. The symbolism and melodrama rarely could be any less subtle, but it usually just *works*. It also just cracks me that although they have armies, it always comes down to a few badasses, lol.

Also, the script can be summed up by "Rebel warlords and that one dude with the fan and the good plans want to fight some tyrannous baddie, but they need Tony f*****n Leung on their side if they want to truly kick ass."

That's... that's seriously RAD, lol.

The expression's meaning is quite literal.

Look at a man's face around 5:00 pm, lol.  There *should* be stubble.

I always thought it referred to 5:00am. If I get up at 7am and shave at 7:15, there's no way my facial hair grows fast enough for me to have stubble by 5pm (then again I'm physically incapable of growing anything more than stubble so no playoff beards for me ).
