This is slightly depressing.
Played the purgatory mission (recruit Jack) last night with Miri/ Kasumi with infiltrator class and I owned it, was really cool. I love the insults that fly between Miri and Jack. Playing a femshep so no Miri love this time.

I think that depends on how you imagine your Shepard. My main Shepard has considerable emotional barriers as well, and I imagine he lets her see that. The "it's worth it" comes from both sides. There's also what I wrote in the Miranda Manifesto - it's not about need. There's considerable attraction between them, but both must know they can walk away from this as an affirmation of their independence. They must know they could live without this, as opposed to most romance clichés, only then they can lower their barriers. But then, "it's worth it", there is no stopping them.jtav wrote...
Leads to an interesting question, though: what does she see in Shepherd? Why does she let him past her rather considerable emotional barriers?
I know it sounds cheesy, but in my games it feels almost like fate that they come together.

What can I say....I mostly agree with this. I don't think she needs a lover, but she definitely wants someone to connect to deeply, especially after Niket's gone. That's why I like to imagine a close friendship between her and Gianna regardless of any Shepard/Miranda romance.jtav wrote...
Yeah. Ieldra most savage me for this in the morning, but I think she's a bit lonely ( and I'm not talking about being single). I think she really wants someone she can count on and serve as an equal, and people like Jacob and Shepard look strong enough to be tempting. On the other hand, if she chooses wrongly, that friend or lover will become just another person who can break her heart. And there's nothing she fears more than having her heart broken. Once again, I'm not talking about romance. Platonic love would serve just as well.
Jacob....well, it didn't work. In Miranda's place I wouldn't have the experience again.

You mean the days when there were 20 pages of OT per day in addition to 2 pages of on-topic posts, instead of only 2 pages of almost exclusively on-topic posts as it is now?Breakdown Boy wrote...

It may seem a bit dead at times, but it also means I don't have to spend two hours to skim what has been written while I was sleeping. I appreciate that.
BTW, would anyone mind if I reposted Strikor's fanart? I have avoided doing that because I'd have to put another's works on my domain.
I did that in my last game. Miranda + Kasumi + Infiltrator Shepard as my core squad. Now I've started an "insanity" run - I'm curious how far I'll get before giving up. Probably either Garrus' recruitment mission (the "close the doors" part), Horizon (husks and scions at the end), Samara's recruitment (the gunship) mission or the Collector ship.Played the purgatory mission (recruit Jack) last night with Miri/ Kasumi with infiltrator class and I owned it, was really cool. Yep, insanity can make or break you. Shields are the infiltrator's downfall, but with the new locust it could be interesting.

on horizon, just stay on the high section (left-side, except when the husks appear there) first couple of rounds, or when there's lots of collectors, also take grunt or jacob as the shotguns are best for husks. concentrate on them when they appear and collectors are no real problem. as for the scions and praetorian, just use cover and stay mobile (can also use squaddies/cloak as a distraction).
gunship is easy as you should have a better SR by then - just run forward as far as possible and hit it hard and fast, when it speeds behind you, just turn around and move into cover again, even on insanity this took me about 30 seconds to kill (widow plus AP bullets and miranda with warp etc).
the collector ship is easily the hardest mission - mainly because you have so little cover, especially at the start, the best thing to do is keep your squad on the first section, safely in cover, and you do the moving, quickly wipe out all the 1st collectors, then the scion on the right and move round to the right - you will then be in a good position to face all the other waves, and last scion. can be very tricky as i found this is where switching weapons caused shepard to randomly stand up the most, causing insta-death usually.
the new locust really does help, though - especially against scions/harbinger.

I'm still deciding which Shepard I'll use for this. I've played two Infiltrators in a row and don't want to play yet another. I started with my femShep Engineer, who needs a main playthrough, the first one being my first ME2 game and thus imperfect. But I really want to see another Miranda romance after one game without it.
Decisions, decisions. And Miranda throws a wrench into my carefully balanced plans to play different Shepards in different ways. The only female LIs I want are Ashley and Miranda, and the only male LI is Kaidan. Unexpectedly, 2:1 for ME1 characters vs. ME2 characters, but Miranda counts for ten...
Edit:
Read your ninja'd post. Of course I'll take Miranda with me everywhere. What did you think?

Sorta...we took the OT conversations elsewhere. It is sorta hard to discuss just one topic for days on end.

I swear if I had a nickel for every time someone asked me when the next chapter of my story came out, I'd be rich. I never want to see that particular universe again. It's done.

Morning. I for one am grateful for the lack of OT. My poor dial-up.
That would be a good reason to not continue, wouldn't it?I swear if I had a nickel for every time someone asked me when the next chapter of my story came out, I'd be rich.
So now we know. That's good. But if you don't mind the question, what's so bad about that universe that you don't want to see it again?I never want to see that particular universe again. It's done.

Ieldra, the close the doors part is tricky, but you have more time than you think, so just proceed cautiously (and in the more open, warehouse bit send you squaddie right and use the cover on the left, taking out the flammable canisters). ammo can make the difference here, though.
on horizon, just stay on the high section (left-side, except when the husks appear there) first couple of rounds, or when there's lots of collectors, also take grunt or jacob as the shotguns are best for husks. concentrate on them when they appear and collectors are no real problem. as for the scions and praetorian, just use cover and stay mobile (can also use squaddies/cloak as a distraction).

One thing to remember about the bit on Horizon, the 2 scions can be taken out without actually getting into 'proper' combat with them. When you open the door to that area, if you just move a fraction forward remaining on the stairs, you should be able to spot parts of them sticking out behind the middle platform with the computer on it and you can take shots at them (either with guns or warp, only Shep though, the squadmates won't target them) from there and kill them off. Thus once they are dead you move straight onto the next bit with the collectors, harbinger and a few husks.
If you got Soldier or Infiltrator just snipe the 2 boogers, if you adept or sentinel warp or throw them. Don't think I've done it with my Engineer yet, so can't confirm how to do it with them. Vanguard I think I just zerged them lol

As for why I don't want to continue in that universe, either Miranda is a war criminal who belongs in jail and/or Shep is an emotionally abusive jerk (the two are not exclusive). I think Shepard crossed a line with some of his comments and how long he let the torture go on, and there's no possibility of a happy ending. The number of people who want them back together astonishes me. She deserves better.

Come on, it´s not sooo surprising, people just want happy endings in all the stories and in life too. You got to see it from this side: Your story stands out for not providing one.

Currently Miranda is at the storyline point of saying something like "If you think anything is going to happen while you're doing the same with so and so..."
However, on a previous play-through I remember her saying something like "I won't be shared, you need to make that clear to..."
What context produces the latter?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know honestly... I always get Miri to the point where she says "I'm wrapping up some loose ends for Cerberus" before any romantic dialogue happens with other LIs. Is it possible to get that dialogue after you reach that point?
