The way I see the ME2 one is that it is having one last 'night' as it were of something good (as is commented on in a couple of the other romances) before potentially going to your death.....if we'll get that three times in the same story I don't know what I'll say, but it will be nothing good.Just like others have stated, it is most likely going to be the same situation again in ME3, the trouble is I think even for a new LI that will be a cliche if it is done again and for a current LI just outright crazy if it follows the same style of approach.
Always bothered me..."I'll be by later, when things are quiet..." Miranda keeps saying, but she decides to hop over right before the suicide mission.
I can live with the Big Scene in ME3 being just before the end battle, as long as there's some acknowledgement of the relationship beforehand. I'd also like something in the ending; if I have one complaint about ME1 and ME2, it's that both after-the-end-boss-dies endings just punt the ball forward to a sequel. (Exception: The ME2 ending where someone dies is actually pretty good.)

There is no further sequels after 3.
Actually makes me wonder if they are going to do what they did with ME2 and have 'post-final mission' playtime or not?
Course this is going on the speculation that there is a galaxy to do post-galaxy playtime in hehehe
As for the when things are quiet... well...
I don't think you can get quieter than the whole crew bar the squadmates being off the ship

I suspect they'll have SOMETHING for you to play around in whatever ME3 DLC they have. Besides, just because you saved the galaxy, doesn't mean there's not all sorts of random side missions that need fixing.
(Unless Shepard has to sacrifice himself. Which he might. But they did it in DAO, so who knows?)

I really need to get back to my "canon" ME run. Such a slog without Miranda, Thane, and Mordin. Also need to actually write. Hope I can remember how the story was supposed to go.
Are you going to torture Miri again?

Define "torture." It's Miranda/Thane, set during ME2
Mess around with her, make it sad, bittersweet?

Really great post bas, cool to know your thoughts. So...
1.) The engine room is a hot topic, it seems to inspire great reaction in people. I personally didn't think much of it
beyond being slightly intrigued. I cared more about the lack of dialogue in the scene.
2.) I absolutely never say the line that triggers the "and maybe I wouldn't mind you admiring my body" thing. Not only is it kind of ech, it means you miss out on the kiss scene because you didn't accuse her of being jealous.
3.) Smiling all the time?? I never noticed that.
I hope you do come to like Miranda more. When I was first playing as male Shep my conflict was between Jack and Miranda; I couldn't decide which. Tali never really entered into it for me. I couldn't say why.
ThanksI didn't know that there was a kiss scene! Gonna start a new playthrough right away, haha!
It's more grinning than smiling I guess. I chose Miranda and Tali as my squadmates for the suicide mission and during the final speech, she just grinned and said: "Let's go." That felt really out of place. Like she is secretly a Collector herself and was going to betray you.
I don't like the engine room romance scene for a couple of reasons. Reason 1: Miranda is on top. That doesn't feel right.
And it's just about sex. I thought she loved me. She made that clear in our conversations. If this would be a casual sex scene (like with Jack), I wouldn't mind but this is the only romance scene you get in this game with Miranda.
The romance scenes are just way too short. Again, I don't want nudity or anything but they could be a bit more romantic. More interaction (as in: a conversation) before and after 'the deed'.
When I did the speech at the Collector base, she said, "Well said" or something. I mean, she said more than just "let's go." She made a comment. Huh.
About Miranda being on top... yeah, I thought that was pretty cool and also pretty true to her character. I mean, come on. Miranda, on bottoms? No. Just no. I'm sure the missionary position is more traditional and appeals to a lot of guys more, but that is just not who Miranda is.
About more dialogue in that scene, I totally agree. It needed more. Even the dialogue content in Liara's romance scene, which didn't have much, would've been better. And that conversation was just pretty much,
"I want to do this."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Okay."

There are lines recorded on the disc for F/F Miranda romance. Just thought I'd let people know.
Hmm... I'm curious as to why these weren't in the game then. Maybe recorded in case of a Romance DLC pack?
It would actually be kind of cool to have the DLC pack open up F/F and M/M romances. You would basically be using DLC to redefine a character's canon sexuality.
(P.S. I like Tali. I forked my Canon ME2 run and romanced Tali, and thought that she seemed very serious about the whole thing... )

There is also Tali F/F dialog too. I don 't know, Miri just does't feel like the type of woman who would be intrested in other females. Tali yes, Tali kinda reminds me of Leliana in a strange way, but I don't know, like i changed my Shepards gender just for fun, but a female romance for Miri just sounds wierd to me

She said 'well said' not 'let's go'. That was more than anybody else said about the speech.

Huh? So when my wife is on top that means our marriage is off and it is casual sex?
Besides they have not even gotten to the sex yet, they are just making out beforehand and they just fell over that way and she was on top taking her outfit off. Stripping your clothes off on your back with a dude on top of you is pretty uncomfortable....or so I have heard...what? Stop looking at me like that.

Same thing with Ashley from ME1.
No idea why they were not included.

It just does not feel right IMO. It's like Morrigan and Alistair being a romance option for female/male warden. Just does't feel right.

In developement most people thought Morrigan was going to be the F/F option instead of Leliana.
It also seems sorta weird they were going to make almost every single female LI bisexual. Ashley, Tali, Miranda, Liara, and Kelly? I hope they at least considered a few of the male LIs the same way. Seems really unfair to me.

Lol, seriously tho, I don't think he was saying it was casual sex just because she was on top, just that her being on top "didn't feel right" to him - for some reason. That I don't understand. I mean, seriously?
Also for the record, I don't think she was just on top in the beginning to get her clothes off. I think she stayed on top. The whole time. Just got that impression.
And that's all I have to say about that /Forrest Gump.

When I have sex with my wife, she is 99% on top. Sorry just had to say it.
