This is how I see it in my head:

Shepard and Miranda have been bringing the relationship along for weeks. They both clearly want each other, but early on, Miranda isn't sure about pursuing a relationship on a suicide mission. If it was just about sex, she might have but Shepard is different. She thinks she might have feelings for him and so she wants to be careful and play it slow.

When she finally gives in (the last conversation where she talks about whether what they're feeling is just hormones or something more), they're both just so busy with preparing for the mission that they never get much time together.

So finally, the ship is lined up with the Omega 4 relay, it's too late to make any final preparations, they've got a few hours to spare for each other, the tension has just been building up for so long that they don't care about the verbal foreplay anymore, they just want to skip ahead to the physical stuff.

Yep, that's pretty much it. I agree 100%, and it deserves to be quoted fully!

That used to happen with jtav, back when we were talking about details of Miranda's personality. But since talk has shifted more to her role in the story and she's started to post some of her weirder ideas, things have gotten more balanced.

BTW, meme propagation isn't prevented by tinfoil hats

Unfortunately, no. I've been thinking of summarizing all this stuff for myself, but having to skim all the OT stuff of the time when there were 30 pages per day discouraged me.

But I'm in the process of making a GURPS character sheet for Miranda. They tend to get pretty thorough even with personality aspects.

The idea is it's a system so broad it can fit into anything, and there's sourcebooks for almost every setting (Vikings, WWII, Cyberpunk, Atomic Horror, al kinds of things!)



I still have a GURPS basic set somewhere, but I haven't done any pen and paper RPing in years and years.

It's not one but a package. High HT and IQ, Accelerated Reflexes, Appearance(Beautiful), Very Fit, Eidetic Memory, Longevity and Very Rapid Healing. All in all, by 4th edition rules about 100 points plus the attributes, depending how much you want to push HT and IQ. This is really nothing compared to what her biotics cost. They push her into superhero territory.

For everyone else: GURPS is a PnP roleplaying system designed to work in any kind of world, which suits me because I make all my worlds myself, and they rarely conform to genre standards. I run two campaigns at the moment, which is why I'm rather familiar with it. When I'm done with the character sheet I'll post a link.
