Some of us eat it up, And I like philosophical, sensitive, and introspective. You (general you) can keep your action heroes. I just wish he were human.

Whats wrong with action figure characters? I like Garrus alot because he reminds me of Batman. I like Thane too, I just wished Bioware would have done alot with him. He was too much like Tali in ME. Which is a shame, not to mention, the only role he has in ME2 is being the radio man :crying:

Nothing. Not my type. I prefer either more subtle, intellectual types or out-and-out knights in shining armor.

Like Miri? :wizard:

Finally someone who gets the Tali thing! I've run through it [her romance] before, and I get it, but I would much rather see Tali as sister you have a close relationship with.

I never really saw her as the sister. It's different for different people.

Ya that was a fun conversation on the Tali board that night. <_<

Not to be a dick but we all know that Tali was made a LI because of fans demand. I was happy with Tali as a non LI, but I was disapointed Garrus was not a LI so I was happy he was a LI in ME2 :wizard:

As a character, yes. Would I want to date her? Good God, no.

And as I said, I get that view of her, and I can even take it for RP sake, but I prefer to see her as more a close-friend-and-confidant.  I really respect Tali for coming with Shepard, because she didn't need to, and by the end of ME2 she's basically chosen you over the floatilla, romance or not.  This is pretty significant considering her attitude in ME1 made it clear that she was only with you temporarily.

I'll probably do a full "from the beginning" run-through of her romance with my next MShep (playing a FShep infiltrator atm) just to see if my perspective changes at all.

Um no. Wrong gender, and I don't find her attractive on an aesthetic level like Miranda. We might be okay pals though.

Possibly, though I don't know if I could deal with his illness. I make Miranda do it instead.

And I don't blame kraidy for getting confused. Most people here are guys. And I have been vocal about wishing Miranda was an option for both genders. Either way, natural assumption.

If you have the PC version you can play the romance as female.

You can also do it on the 360. Gotta use save editor tho. Change Shepards gender.

And to think I thought I'd get hounded out of the thread the first tine I brought it up. I seem to have a knack for being controversial when it comes to Miranda.

I was watching an old episode of House and I suddenly thought of the Miranda/Thane pairing (yes, weird connection but bear with me for a sec). Cameron on House once married a man with terminal cancer with one year to live. It's suggested by some of the other characters that this is indicative of Cameron's inability to commit. Marrying a dying man entails pain but it also means the limited time basically become a one-year honeymoon with no long term commitment required.

I wonder if there would be a similar motivation for a Miranda/Thane(or FemShep/Thane) pairing. Getting together with Thane would mean having the intimacy and companionship, but with the limited time they have, Thane might be less likely to really push her to completely make herself vulnerable. If Thane gets too emotionally close for Miranda's comfort, their relationship has a natural time limit. Basically, starting a relationship with a dying guy is a very safe option in a perverse kind of way.

Oh, dear, have I started something, and we're actually having Thane/Miranda discussion? I can live with that.

It's not the approach I'm taking, but it could be done that way. Everybody tries to keep it "friends with benefits" for their emotional health. Especially if you buy the theory that Jacob pushing for something serious led to the break up.

I think Miri would be attracted to Thane, simply because how he is. I am really looking forward to the Miri/Thane thing.

Hoping to work on it some tomorrow, now that I've decided I do want to work on it and not Miranda/Shep. Miranda/Thane is fast becoming my OTP and it's not like there aren't other people writing her with Shep.

No. I think they might be bad for my writing process, actually. Getting too focused on audience reaction instead of telling the story. No that considering audience reaction is bad. I just need to do the rough draft first.

Ya we already have alot of Mir and Shepard, I would like to see how Thane and Miri would work. I still think she would be attracted to him.
