Would rather have him suffer in jail. If I can't have that, than death will have to do.

What could we really charge him with tho?

I want to say charge him with being a douchebag

I think that if we do ever get to deal with him, we'll be able to find something - after all, this idiot was horrible to his daughter, he likely has some other skeletons in the closet too. I believe genetic engineering is illegal - he could be charged for that.

According to the Codex, genetic engineering is not illegal as long as it limits itself to enhancing human abilities.

As for what he actually did - In my personal scenario, he set her up to be raped because he thought the stress would trigger her biotic abilities. The thing that haunts Miranda to this day is that it did - it was the reason she escaped. She ran away because she found out about the setup.

While he could be charged for that, the punishment probably wouldn't be commensurate with the crime.

Was't Miri made tho?

You can create someone to be smart and strong. Still, nobody gets strong without exercise, and nobody gets smart without education. The same applies to biotics. It is, after all, the reasoning for what Jack went through. Interesting to note, btw, that in my scenario they have this thing in common.

In more general terms, you can create a genetic template, but what comes of it is still shaped by the environment to a large degree. As a rule, no trait becomes exceptional without being constantly challenged.

Mornin' all...

I think the perfect person to voice and maybe be face model for Miranda's dad would be Wayne Pygram (Scorpius from Farscape).

And now... a Miri pic

Didn't know him, but looks OK from the pictures I can find.

And now....more Miranda:

It will be some time until I can make new screenshots. I'm currently playing ME1 with my hopefully last Shepard for some time - and I'm annoyed. I can't get a perfect playthrough anymore because I forgot to speak with the C-Sec Officer after chasing the Hanar prophet away, and now he's gone and the task stays in the log. Grrr...

@Yankee: Awesome!

Collider wrote...

MrNose - so have you gone through the Miranda romance conversations as femshep?

I started through as Femshep at the last romance conversations you have with her.

As far as I've figured out through playing with it, if you want to go through the whole thing as Femshep you still need to do a lot of the conversations as a male, because the game checks your gender when you talk to certain squadmates.  If you've got certain conversation paths checked (male-only conversation paths) but the game notices you're a female it can cause a crash.  Once you get to the final conversations though, you're considered as having "won" the romance, and so the game doesn't bother checking.

Very nice, Yankee. I have most of these, but you got the sneer, which I haven't. I also notice you didn't capture the wink. That one's a pain, since you need to re-do the whole Omega-4 portal sequence from the approach to the Oculus fight to get it.

Great, Yankee! **hurries to save the screenshot** I think we now have a collection of the important Miranda screenshots. I'll try to get some more in my next playthrough, but I doubt there's anything impressive left.

I stil hope this new one has no Cerberus logos. They did it with Shepard with his new outfit, can't see why they can't do it with Miri :wizard:

Miranda doesn't smile often. So when she does, you can be sure she's really happy. Posted Image

I also like Kasumi's line about Miranda smiling.

Seems like I missed some interesting discussion while my internet was out.

I don't think Miranda's father set her up to be raped, though this is due more to my intense revulsion to the idea than anything.I think Miranda found out her father planned to eliminate her and start again with Oriana. So, conspiracy and attempted murder, minimum.

I really dislike restricting myself to smilies, but this....

...does express things best. Great work, Yankee. You have a serious output of pictures today. :)

As for the alternate outfit, as a rule I don't mind the logo, but it's strange for her to wear this where people aren't supposed to know she is Cerberus. Even considering the logo might only be known to very few. After all, why has Cerberus a logo anyway? It's not as if their "corporate identity" could be published for advertising.

That's a good alternative I also thought of.

I got my idea because it is so intensely personal, and for the added complication that the situation did succeed in triggering her
biotics, resulting in a very violent escape (before anything was done to her, mind you). Not an original idea, btw, I read something similar in the SF trilogy "Cyteen" by C J Cherryh, where this was used to push a clone into it's original's track.

It's a good idea, Ieldra. I could see it happening, especially since we know extreme stress can trigger biotic outbursts. Strictly a visceral reaction on my part. I don't want her to have been subjected to an attempted rape on her father's orders. Now I know how you felt when I proposed some of my theories. Strange to have the roles reversed.

Wow. I really need to visit this thread more often. Those wallpapers are stunning, Yannkee!
