I just save them because I like them, and I have no idea what there purpose is in ME3, so better be safe than sorry.kraidy1117 wrote...

Eh killing off squad mates just isn't my cup of tea.
Same, even with Jacob, I just can't. I don't know why. I did my massacre run and it hurt alot inside for me. I just really liked the characters in ME2.

Ok just gone back a few pages to see what I missed whilst been away, I find it funny how people seem to get this notion that the majority of a fanbase would attack you with pitchforks for admitting to liking more than one character. Anyone who truly thinks that is crazy.
The fact is, I like pretty much all of the characters, granted some more than others and of course despite my slight annoyance with a select few members from one fan-base.
One thing people forget is that Bioware proved when making ME2 that they listen to the fan-bases for characters to some extent. So it is obvious that ME2 would spawn a vocal fan-base for each of the new squadmates (and even some of the Non-squaddies/crew)
I'll admit that I don't really care if Miranda is cameoed. Just as long as if she is that they give good reason for it and she at least does play some potential part in it. I doubt she will play an uber-critical role even if she is a squadmate (other than being a squadmate), that said I believe there is more chance of her being a 'potential' returning squadmate than most of the others.
One thing the ME2haters seem to forget in that regards is that besides catering for those of us who bought and played the original, they also were catering for 'new players' too. Now granted they may have hoped that people would like ME2 so much they'd go and buy ME and play through them both. But way I see it, they have to consider new ME2 players carrying on with just an ME2 playthrough and as such will be going into ME3 with an ME2 romance. So I can't see them trying to claim that the ME2 LIs were just 'flings' to tempt the MEimport player from their LI.
Edit: Oi Kraidy and Da Shadow Master, not all of us who killed Miri are evil nasty MEfreak fans that are just pissed off because they are too dumb to understand why their ME LI was treated in such fashion in ME2. Some of us do it to add variety to the following game.
And I've only done it once anyway, in my Kasumi and Zaeed only survive playthrough. That is 1 out of 10 playthroughs (granted I've only just started playthrough 9 and playthrough 10 won't happen until ME3 release).
Not saying your freaks for killing Miri, I just can't do it my self. I did a massacre run with only Miri survivng.
I can't bring myself to kill her either.Just something I can't do. Does that make me weird at all?
Same with Ash.I nuke Kaidan everytime.

Then I go down to Kaidan on the Normandy, looking to get more backstory outta him and I get "Dont worry Commander, were all in for the duration."
I was just like "This is all I get? I killed Ash for you! What the sh*t? I shouldve left your ass on Virmire! Im glad I killed you! You're WORTHLESS."

In my 9th playthrough I've decided to use the Gibbed Save File Editor to alter the 'default ME2' background and so in this one I've got a maleshep where Ash got Virmired and picked a fair few of the paragon options (apart from saving the council) and done most of the sidequests that are noted in import (so Conrad alive)
It is a tie-in to my 'Alternate universe' fan-fic am doing in which Ash died in the past and Wrex isn't involved. Playing Shep as if he is Leeroy Jethro Gibbs from NCIS (even editted his hair so it's grey). Now if only Shep could 'Gibbs slap' squadmates

I don't think I ever will do a massacre run. It hurts me.
I did one but have since replayed part of that playthrough a couple of times now. One where wanted to see if could get Shep out alive with no one loyal did so easily, although I did upgrade the ship but would've probably still come out with about 4 squadmates, Miranda was the only one to die on door defence. Then restarted from a save point and turned that into my Zaeed and Kasumi only survive playthrough. Am actually going to redo this again but this time will do some of the other loyalty quests (didn't bother with anyone elses on first run) and also going to ensure none of the crew survive so it is a really, really bad import
Kind of funny because that particular shep is a 'Sole Survivor' so if the DLC aren't in ME3, then it will be almost a repeat of Akuze, albeit with Joker (so does that make Joker into Toombs? lol). It's also a femshep so I would have to say that her song is definitly... Survivor

I am assuming Kraidy's Shep didn't live. He did say after all it was a massacre run and if he had Miri as the only loyal one left, then Shep would still die.

I did that once with Kaidan - start the romance and then leave him on Virmire. I wanted the tragic end. But I couldn't do this with Miranda, except if it was something like her or the galaxy.Vyndael wrote...
Haha! Did you romance her too? That would be one hell of a breakup.

indeed. But I'm not sure I want them all back for ME3. I prefer a smaller cast with bigger roles for any one character. For instance, I wouldn't mind Grunt not returning as a squadmate. Even though he is the krogan counterpart to Miranda and deserves a role in the story.Collider wrote...

I'm psyching myself up for a humans-only-survive run. Just replaying ME1 as a Renegade as preparation since none of my existing maleSheps fit the role. Ahh...letting Kate Bowman die, that hurts. Somehow, I have something for that woman...EffectedByTheMasses wrote...

I'm only rude to her when I'm not doing her romance. When I am, look up chivalry in the dictionary, and you'll find Shepard's picture. He's pretty much My Perfect First Boyfriend . Treats her like a princess from start to finish.
So basically your Shepard sees her and immediately thinks "How can I make this happen?"
Nah. Didn't become romantically interested in her until her loyalty mission. He just tends toward the civil and polite. He's basically a paladin in space.

I have to agree with the part in bold. Obviously I would prefer it if Miranda came back as a squadmate in ME3, but if it makes more sense and helps the story more for her to be a non-party member, then I will completely support that. I don't want Bioware to sacrifice potential plot points or useful story devices simply to fit her in as a squadmember.Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...

I really like that idea, actually. I think it makes far more sense than the generic "recruit x members and then complete mission" thing. It would also be nice if her dialogue and interaction with you didn't end simply because her part in your squad was over.jtav wrote...
Agreed, I don't care if she's not a party member. I'd rather have an excellent ten-minute cameo than have her return as a squad member, but have her content be thin/generic because the devs have to account for eight other LIs. A Miranda who resigned should be in a very different place than one who didn't. Really, my ideal (as in, this is what I would do if I were in charge) would be something like Kingdom Hearts. You have a small core squad that is supplemented by returning ME/ME2 squad on appropriate missions. Assuming ME3 will involve gathering an army, Miranda would join you for the mission to recruit Cerberus (possibly involving her taking over for TIM), Tali/Legion for the quarians/geth, etc.

Grrr. I do care. Quite a lot. And this is why: have you ever seen a character with good and extensive scenes and characterization and a good role in the plot who is neither an antagonist nor a team member? I haven't, in any Bioware game, and I would very much like to point out that one of the points of this thread is to get Miranda back as an LI, a good character in general and a team member.
Grrrr.
(I did mention that I wouldn't mind a period of absence, as long as I have some control over it).
