Melrache wrote... Can you actually playthrough the first ME without having romance? Sorry, but I bought the both games at the same time so I only played the first one through once and that was rushed. Considering new run after I get back home, but not sure if I can stand the sidemissions.

Yes, you can easily play ME1 without romance. If you get sucked in accidentally, and it's not Liara, you can leave them on Virmire, but it works if you just don't choose the romance options. BTW, the sidemissions aren't that bad. Gameplay is mostly boring but fortunately short, sidequest-specific dialog, on the other side, is often better than in ME2 where it often doesn't exist at all. The part I wouldn't repeat are the collection missions, they require lots of Mako-driving, often through frustratingly rocky terrain. But don't forget to use the trinket on Eletania - what you do (not) here is stored in the savegame and transferred to ME2.

Yeah I know about the save game transfer, but I'd be more up for Mass Effect marathon rather than picking new savegame which may not be entirely the way I'd want it to be. Just need to find something new from the game while still being able to play it the way I'd like. {smilie}

On my first run through I actually missed the Cerberus involving missions totally or I just didnt bother to read the mission info. Did the missions give any info, that would make the first meeting with Jacob and Miri any more heated than it already was? Honestly I was surprised the way my Shepard talked to them when I, myself, thought they were such bunch of nice scientists that brought Shepard back to life. Fortunately I found out it was just a way for Miri to continue her father's dynasty!{smilie}

Won't happen again. {smilie}

Seconded.

And to make amends, you have to repost the Yvonne gif you posted on the previous page.

I still don't see you making amends. Where's the Yvonne gif, Mel? :whistle:

And I agree with your conclusion, this whole thing was just a plot to have Miranda meet and produce offspring with the only being in the galaxy who comes close (but not quite there) to her level of perfection, Shepard. The perfect eugenics plan after the best use of genetic engineering ever.

Heh. They even got to modify him.

BTW, seriously, it might not have been Miranda's or someone else's plan, but the end result might just be as if it had been.

It's not me making her cry, it's Andy.  He's the one being disloyal.  And I like dogs too, which is why they have my personal protection and will not be harmed when Andy's loyalty is questioned.

IMO, I get the feeling that's actually Bioware's plan. Consider:
  • The use of such an unique character design for Miranda (even going so far as to choosing a particular VA and modelling the character after her, unlike every other character except default Shep);
  • How important she is in the story (saving Shep and showing her to be the only LI who's an equal to him in every respect);
  • Bioware's push of Miranda in the promo materials;
Also, the fact that a no save new game as no previous LI adds to that feeling.

Or maybe the fact that I love Miranda's character so much makes me think that way.

I really like all the characters, with special mentions for Mordin and Legion, but the only one I really can't do without in the next game is Miranda.

If Miranda is not in ME3 as a romance and squadmate, I'll be really sad and disapointed.

Ok, I'll write it off as a momentary lapse of judgement.

And Captain Awesome :D, for some reason, I could totally see him as their child. :lol:

@Sleepy Most of the characters are fine, the ones I've seen people hating/disliking most are Zaeed and Jack. I only dislike Jack myself, Zaeed is pretty nice when you get him early on and get to see his reactions from the start. Jack, well I don't like her because of her attitude. Sure you could go and say that she is nice when you get to know her and/or romance her, but she offended my cheerleader!

I am pretty sure Bioware wouldn't leave her out from ME3, unless she had some hidden motives that get played in the intro and she is never seen again. I still think the main reason for her being left out, would be Yvonne's unwillingness/possibility to do the role again. Her career might take off from the ground with the few new movies and Chuck's 3rd, bit darker, season.

She's probably already contracted for ME3.  When a studio signs a big name up for a production, they usual contract them for a sequel or two as well, depending upon the length of the series.  I bet Martin Sheen, Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin are already contracted for ME3.

Hehe I just finished Chuck season 2 last night.  Totally awesome what a great show.  So over the top, so absurd...and simply great because of it.  I kept saying things like this while watching it: 'You know what would be awesome?  If that dude killed that dude and he turned out to be a spy who was working for those dudes and...' and then that exact scenario would play out.  Thank you to all you Miranda/Yvonne fans who turned me on to the show.

Oh and that scene from the end of season 2?  Whenever you go out with a lady guys always plan for success no matter how unlikely it may seem on the surface...after all when the sparks fly and you suddenly find yourself without a place to take her and without protection and all that you will only find yourself to blame.  I mean doubly so if it is a super hot secret agent and you are being tracked by bad guys and the government.  Important lessons can sometimes be learned from fiction gentlemen Posted Image

You know what would be awesome?  Kal'Reegar as a squadmate in ME3.

That's right.  I would be totally geeking it up with he and Miranda as my A team.

But then Miranda and Kal'Reegar would keep insisting that Shepard stays in the Normandy.

@Valmy: You can't really blame Chuck. Morgan was the one who ruined the evening, but if he hadn't the story would've taken a whole different turn. Casey would've ran in when they were already in act..... ''So I was correct about you being unable to keep your chocolate out of his peanut butter? Hahaha! Smile! *takes a photo with his mobile cellphone* ''

Honestly there would've not been any other alternative.

That would be all kinds of awesome. I have such a man crush on Adam Baldwin.

You know, I would like to see that. I like stories where love affairs actually have a meaning within the story instead of being only a nice embellishment. You can see in my fanfic that I see Shepard as Miranda as exemplary for what humans can become within the context of the ME universe. But think about this: what will those players get who romanced another?

(BTW, I have resigned myself to the fact that I will be unable to play a game of ME2 as a maleShep without romancing Miranda. So, sorry Tali and Jack, it won't happen. Sorry Ash, it was good while it lasted. But Miranda is Miranda, and there's no other like her.)
