I guess I am looking too deep into things. I guess I just thought when Miranda offered herself to be the leader Shepard would immediately understand especially considering that he trusts her now more than ever.

Shepard also has to do what's best for the mission. He may trust Miranda, but if nobody else does, things could get very ugly, very fast. If Miranda has to lead a fireteam that doesn't trust her and won't even watch her back, she could end up dead. Even if the thought of Miranda dying doesn't bother Shepard, a breakdown in unit cohesion in Miranda's fireteam would likely end in total mission failure.

First time I played through the game, I thought Miranda was supposed to be the bad choice for team leader because of the way she and Jack got in each others' faces. I'd noticed her lack of people skills and didn't want to risk that she'd ****** someone off at the worst possible time.

A while back, we were discussing music pieces appropriate to Miranda. A violin piece was mentioned, with the poster saying it was especially appropriate to the love scene. I think the composer's name was Barber or similar. Anybody remember the title?

Anytime. Someone said it's perfect for the love scene? I find that it does mesh well with it. Seems more like music for the ship being destroyed or something.

Something like that. And since I'm concentrating on both of them realizing that they'll probably die in the next few hours and trying desperately to find some enjoyment despite that, it seems appropriate.

Few tumbleweeds blowing through. Should get the discussions back.

So I'd like to rant a bit with people who will understand.

There are a few ME1 LI fans - a few, I say! - who seem to dislike Miranda in particular. Out of all the ME2 LIs. I think she's like the mascot of their resentment at the way the first LIs were sidelined.

But why Miranda? They seem to think she's a worthless sex symbol. They don't seem quite as against Jack or Tali, or any of the male LIs.

Miranda is the main love interest advertised by Bioware, and also has the sexy aspect. They believe that they replaced Ashley and Liara with Miranda who has the sexy thing going on.

Not sure how others feel. but if I were a huge fan of an Ash / Liara LI, I'd figure I'd want to be the maddest at Tali.

Not because of Tali's popularity or anything, but due simply to the fact that she was with Shepard during the events of ME1.

Tali would be the one who's most aware of a previous relationship with Ash / Liara, being a part of the crew, and yet she still agrees to Shep's advances during ME2.

You know, I've never thought of it that way before, but you're right.

Though I think Miranda would be seen as more of a usurper simply because she's new. They already knew Tali, less of a threat.

But it is odd, if you had a former relationship in ME1, that Tali says nothing about it. Then again we have no idea if anyone else even knew, it's not like in DA:O where other characters in the party acknowledge your relationships.

I don't agree with that night. The thing is, Miranda is a new character. That's what I mean by replacement.

I have to ask, with in reason, what would be the most unforgivable thing Bioware could do to Miranda's character and or would it apply to any character in general?

Betrayal or death (applies to all characters).

Barber's Violin Concerto isn't bad but I prefer his Adagio for Strings. It's a little overused, but for good reason - it seems to fit every sad scene in any movie.

Email cameo. I would take death or betrayal over Miranda's character being completely marginalized. She's one of the central characters of ME2 and she should continue to play a significant role in the conclusion of the ME storyline.
