Wow I hope they don't do that, that was one of the biggest turn offs of Tali. If the make her bisexual that would only prove that if you sleep with Jacob you'll sleep with anyone.Valmy wrote...

QFT. If there simply were no same-sex options, I probably wouldn't think much of it. But the sheer unmitiagated gall of trying to pretend femShep/Liara is not a lesbian relationship is infuriating. Combine that with the negative portrayal of homosexuality/bisexuality in ME2, and I start wanting to throw things.
Woah what negative portrayal? It seems a bit unfair to start attacking Bioware as homophobic anyway since they have been pioneers in this as far as video games are concerned....As for Miranda, it's not a retcon of her orientation per se that would be problematic for me (a writer could make her bisexual without contradicting a syllable of her backstory). But suddenly showing an interest in femShep specifically? That would need some explaining. So, for the purpose of ME3, I don't think it would work. Fiction? I like reading and writing it very much. Very much. If we got a "Miranda Lawson: Agent of Cerberus" backstory comic and it was revealed she'd had lovers of both sexes, I wouldn't bat an eye.
But then, I'm a bit odd when it comes to Miranda pairings.
Um...they could just do what they did with Tali and pretend it was always there but some personality quirk of Miranda, like focussing on the mission, kept her from expressing it or whatever.

I'm not accusing them of homophobia. Their record is too good. But this specific game bugs me. Kelly sleeps with anything that moves. Morinth is a serial rapist/muderer, Samara has sworn off sex. Nef is dead. And none of the "gay options" are treated as a romance like Liara was in ME.
Hmmmm...Morinth is a great villain and it was connected with Samara's sworn off thing...I mean also Samara is way past the age Asari worry about such things. I guess it never occured to me that was a negative portrayal of bisexuals...I suppose that case could be made. But the Asari are just everywhere in the game. I think having Omega be run by an Asari and having the other planet be an Asari planet was a bit of an overkill.
But oh wait you are talking about the characters Shep can actually try to have sex with. Ok fair point though Kelly and Samara are not unsympathetic in their portrayals I don't think but yeah they do not get the same treatment as Liara in ME1...not to mention Liara not getting the attention Liara did in ME1 even if she is now a total badass in her way.

No it wouldn't. Being bisexual doesn't mean you will just sleep with anybody.

As for Miranda, they could say she was hiding it, but I'd have a very hard time thinking of a reason why she would. She doesn't seem the type to nurse unrequited love for long.
All I was getting at is if they did it with Garrus/Tali they can do it with Miranda as well. They can find some reason for it.

What he said. Miranda would still have very high standards in her partners. Gender (and species if we're talking about asari) simply wouldn't be among the criteria.

Leliana already fills the "squeaky clean" bisexual women role. The Warden can be a lesbian and save the day with Leliana by her side.

Anyway, I didn't see you here before. Welcome. Maybe you would also like to join the group (see my sig)?
Well yes, it does. But it doesn't make me want to watch "Chuck". Too much silliness therein for my taste. I prefer her als Miranda Lawson und would love to see her playing Miranda in an ME movie. Unfortunately, movies inspired by games tend to be very bad.If reading this thread makes you want to watch more of her, do not be alarmed, this is normal.

Pity. Great show I just wish it was more popular. But hey no show is perfect for everybody. I am rather glad it does not take itself too seriously.

Yes. It is strange and completely irrational.

If it is, then I'm strange.
At least the bisexual Miranda discussion is giving me ideas. More ideas than I can use really. I find the idea appealing for reasons I can't fully describe.

Have any of you completed Miranda's romance as a FemaleShepard with the save game editor hack? I'm curious what you all thought of it, as I may try it in the future.

You should ask MrNose. He did some of the scenes (hasn't done the main romance conversations yet) There are some recorded lines (there are same sex lines from Shepard for all romances aside from Jacob) but they aren't all there. femShep talks to Mordin about Miranda, this I know.jlb524 wrote...

Thanks, I'll just give it a go and see how it works...lack of VO doesn't bother me.
