I have trouble imagining Miri/Liara. Miri/Legion sure! They were both engineered, so they have that in common... :P

Yeah, I could see it, Legion is alot more...lively then the blue wall that needs a comic to get over.

I know a great deal of other people that have posted on this thread did not take this out of the presentation of Miranda (mostly those who didn't seem to like her), but I found that BioWare's accentuation of her beauty was a fantastic way to present her character. She is very beautiful and designed, genetically anyways, to be absolutely perfect. Why would BioWare not accentuate these traits? If anything, I think this makes the contrast between how others perceive Miranda as perfect and how she perceives herself once you get through those barriers she sets up even greater.

Though, I suppose how some could take away that Miranda was little more than eye candy in the game. Regardless of that fact, I didn't take BioWare's accentuation of her beauty as being nothing more than a "sell-out" character that was to be used as eye candy. I saw it as a way for BioWare to show you a flawed character, a beautiful, "perfect" character that sees herself as little more than an item constrained by her genetic engineering.

I think I figure out what Hudson was talking about, about how Miranda was a simpler character. It might be a good thing to, consider this, between Miranda and Jack who has more personalty? I assume most would say Miranda and I would agree. Sense this is the Miranda's support page I don't need to go into details what makes her deep. But, what about Jack? Well, her personality is really generic, I know,I might get heat for say it, but Jack fans you know it,haters, lovers the whole Tough Girl that just needs a hug and wants to cry her eye's out, yeah we've seen it before early 80's late 90's it's nothing new, it's been done to death. With that said, what could Hudson be talking about? I think he's talking about the background story and this, I can agree with. If you look at Miranda's story at its heart it's about a young woman escaping from an abusive father and in a few detail its a pretty simple story. Looking at Jacks however,Kidnapped as child, experimented on,forced to fight other children, joined a cult and other stuff bottom line her back story is more to it lot more happened. As an add note this is noway an anti Jack statement, this is solely based opinion and fact. In no way is this meant mock, chastise any fans of said characters. If you wish to refute statement good luck.

Technically this is a contradictory statement. Something cannot be both "solely opinion" and "solely fact" - it is either one or the other. I agree with you that on the surface, Jack's backstory seems more extensive than Miranda's. Based solely on what we hear in the game, Jack tells us about a lot of things she has done while Miranda tells us virtually nothing.

However, Miranda has been a Cerberus agent since her late teens. In that time I am willing to bet that she has done at least as much as Jack has, if not more. The difference is that while Miranda would like to keep those activites in her past secret, Jack treats them like a badge of honour and thus flaunts them openly and brags about them. Miranda choosing not to tell Shepard about what she has done does not mean Miranda has a boring, empty history.

I like to think that miri might be a little ashamed about what she has doen and also she does not like to talk about her self that much. Before she met Shepard she considred herself a tool and nothing more.

Exactly what i was thinking Kraidy, not until she meets shepard does she realise that she is more than a tool to be used and disgarded by cerberus and her father, and that shepard shows her that she is not a tool and a person of worth.

Yup, even tho we don't know what she went through s a kid and a teen we have things that pretty much approve she had a terriable childhood and teen life, not to mention with Cerberus she is pretty much a tool that will be discarded in the future.

Well she says it her self that her father pushed her to meet impossiable demads, even for someone as gifted as herself, so i bet that was just as tough, if no where near the same as Jacks childhood, and i doubt when she first got into ceberus she had a walk in the park, and like you guys have mentioned, she probbly had to do some pritty bad things and it is a military organization- if a rouge one apparently.

Jack and miri had a similar childhood, with Jack having a more extream one but both are similar. Both have had horrific past that made them into the woman they are, however both deal with it diffrently.

Yeah i meant in the way that Miri would have been at the top schools and military and Biotic schools, forging her into the woman that she now is, whislt jack would of been in that test facility, that is i what i meant by diffrent, but you are totally correct where you say they had similar childhoods, in hte sense that they were both horrific, and the way in which they deal with it dictate the way in how they evolve as characters.

Miranda might have considered herself a tool of Cerberus', but I doubt she regrets much of what she's done. She's a paragade, after all, and thus she is not afraid to get her hands dirty if she has to.

She quits Cerberus because of the Illusive Man's intention to keep the Collector base (if Shepard takes the Paragon route), not because she's suddenly had a revelation that everything she's done up to that point is immoral.
If you were to ask Miranda after ME2 whether she regrets anything she'd done during her Cerberus career, I doubt she would have very many regrets at all.

Miranda's reluctance to share the details of her career with Shepard are probably more due to her personality than a sense of guilt. Jack feels the need to brag. Miranda does not. Although Miranda considers herself a tool, she doesn't need to brag to validate her worth - she's been a very good tool for Cerberus for a long time and she knows it. Miranda doesn't need to prove herself to anybody, not even Shepard.

Oh I don't mean that miri is ashamned of everything, but most liekly there are some regrets in there. Her childhood she would never talk about because it would be too painful for her to talk about. Thats what I like about Miri, she never brags, she can be accused of being cocky but really she is just stating alot of the facts.

Decided to pop in and say hi. I'm completely new to the gaming genre but Miranda's my favorite character in the game.

If she's not in ME3 I'll be very disappointed ;)

No I do play a fair amount of games, and I am involved in a community for those games, but I've never played RPG's before.

No I do play a fair amount of games, and I am involved in a community for those games, but I've never played RPG's before.

RPGs are often more based on a complicated plot and many interesting characters. To fully enjoy a RPG I think you should give the story and different characters a little extra attention compared to other games. Take Miranda for example, there is more to her than you might think.
