Obviously, there are people who think differently. I've tried the Thane romance with my femShep. Not really my cup of tea, even if you overlook that he's nonhuman, but he does have something. Also his recruitment mission has the most beautiful screenshots in the game, and Thane actually carries the mood evoked by these shots through the whole game.Sixth Goul wrote...
I hate to break to you, but Thane has the sex appeal of testicular cancer.
@jtav:
What makes Miranda so perfect is that she has it all: she's interesting, she has sex appeal, she's competent. She's also a little mysterious, and who can resist that? I fail to understand how anyone (OK, perhaps any man) can not go

Could someone explain whole "Miranda has been desperately in love with Shepard since before he woke up on Lazarus Station?"

No, because it would mean that she fell in love with a dead body. She never talked to him in person and got her information from reports. I don´t think it´s possible either.

She doesn't seem to regard Shep with anything other than professional respect until her loyalty mission. When she expresses romantic interest, she doesn't hide it. She says it's a bad idea to act on her feelings, but she doesn't deny they're there. She doesn't play hard to get, nor does she strike me as the type to pine after someone.
As far as I know it was one fanfic but it was never meant to be canon.

I see it from time to time, that Miranda had projected some sort of fantasy lover onto Shepard and was only interested because he was the Savior of the Citadel. Complete rot if you ask me.

At the most she would of read Sheps record and been impressed by all his deeds, not inlove from the the moment she laid eyes on his battered and burnt corpse.

Valmy, I was actually thinking about comments I'd read on the site, and I wanted to know why anyone thought this was even plausible.
I thought it went something like this 'OMG did you know there was one fanfic where Miranda falls for Shep even before he comes back to life?' 'What Miranda falls for Shep before he even comes back to life?' 'Miranda is disgusting she falls for Shep even before he comes back to life'
And so forth.

She didn't seem particularly overawed by his resume when he first meets her

Sorry i didnt explain myself properly then, my bad.
I meant that at the best, in a fanfic for instance she could of been impressed at his resume and not of been so cold when they first meet. in the game however i know that when she meets Shep, regardless of whats he done, she aint that impressed, which in some peoples eyes makes her all the more the challange

I'd actually like to read something where she did have feelings for him from the beginning because they've been having an on-again/off-again Batman and Catwoman style relationship for years. And now they're working for the same people. Who do I have to bribe to make that happen?
Hmmm i take your money but thats it

Miranda's actually a pretty good deconstruction of Mary Sue. Designed to be perfect, but emotionally damaged because of it.

Me, night, and other people like fongiel talk about how they could have made Shepard less of an unsympathetic invincible action hero:
