Well, only way I'll ever pay to see this movie,is if Bioware as absolute power over the script. That way it will at least have some creditable.
Um...it is their IP. By law they will have absolute power over how it is used.

It's an opinion based on experience. Regardless of the quality of the game a movie is inspired by, the results have always been 100% crap. I don't expect this one to be different. If it is, all the better, but I don't hold my breath.Valmy wrote...

No, it´s a movie based on a game. It´s going to be awful. 100%
It is a Bioware game. They know how to tell a story.
Unless you consider every game to be equal....in which case why aren't you a fan of every game ever made by every game company if you believe there is nothing to differentiate quality?
That depends on the contract. As a rule, movie makers reserve all the rights to do with the material what they want, unless there's an extremely powerful franchise behind it. Games and game series as a rule aren't that.Valmy wrote...

If Bioware signs away creative control of their franchise, which they created for the explicit reason for having creative control, I will do a massive facepalm. They will have just wasted years of effort.

Well its up to EA now...since they own all rights... after they bought Bioware. I'm not really sure if EA cares enough to make sure that something good comes out of this. Im just glad its not Fox who bought it.

They probably have extremely minimal control over the film. And even if they did, these are very different mediums. I'm thinking about how I'd adapt the first game, and I'm pretty sure I'd be tarred and feathered by the fanbase. And I actually care about the source.

Is that the plan? To adapt the first game?

Why is anybody having high hopes for the movie? Lets be realistic video game movies suck! This one is going to be no exception I guarantee it.

well the usual...make one...see if it makes money...then make the next 2 faster, maybe shoot them together.

No no wait there is no way they could do a decent job on a story that epic in just 90 minutes or whatever. Is that really a plan? Ok maybe you guys are right I cannot see exactly how that would work. They need to make a story in the ME universe that works for a 90 minute film not a 20-40 hour game.

Confidence in Bioware. I look forward to you eating crow when they do a great job once again.
