This thread is not about Jack it is about Miranda and I think it is worth talking about why Miranda responded the way she did.

In my view Miranda simply is not sensitive and doesn't have any patience for coddling anybody...even when it makes good sense to do so.

Well she had sex with Jacob but that was AFTER the mission and not part of some seduction plot.  It was because during the mission she and Jacob started to have feelings for each other but once they got together they discovered that those feelings were illusory: a result of the mission and they were really not compatible.

Actually look how Miranda's appearance effects the relationship with Jacob also. He feels a real sense of being inferior and being intimidated by her and it keeps him from really developing feelings for her. Once again her looks keep her separate, safe, and in control.

Thats why I said she has had sex that ment something to HER, it was not buisness or part of the mission, same as Shepard. Niket is very debatable. I think she did and we know she has strong feelings.

I really don't think there was anything going on between her and Niket.

Maybe it's just me, but when I say a guy is "comfortable", I mean it's platonic and there's no further interest to speak of there.

I think Miranda and Jacob probably did in the after-glow of victory.  It just did not really work when they tried to have an actual relationship.

But yeah when a woman calls you comfortable that is usually not a good sign...unless she says you feel comfortable when you...nevermind.

I think Miranda/Jacob had a brief sexual relationship. I think it would have worked out, except Jacob doesn't know what he wants and looked to Miranda to provide him with a purpose in life. If he ever could commit himself...



Miranda/Niket reads as a platonic love but no less love for that.

Well, "it got close, then it got far apart" can read many ways. It got close means it got close to something, but how you define "something" is interpretive too.

If you define "something" as sex, then they didn't have it. If you define "something" as a serious relationship, they might've had sex but had nothing come of it.

Haha, sorry. I think it's quite possible that they did have sex, I'm just guessing they never really had a deep romantic connection. Like, they weren't really right for each other.

I have little comparison, but I think it's true. We talk a lot about Miranda and Cerberus, her father and what he did, her sister, her attitudes and problems in general etc.. Really, while I like the romance and speculating about its future, there is so much more of her to talk about where we can really debate instead of reiterating how awesome Miranda is, as true as that is.

I think both characters represent attitudes to Cerberus often at odds in this forum. We often debate the relative merits and flaws of Cerberus, it's agenda and methods here. I've not seen it here so much, but in other threads these debates have occasionally been rather unpleasant. Maybe there is some correlation between Jack fans and the "I hate Cerberus" faction on one side, and Miranda fans and the "Maybe they're onto something" faction on the other.
