She's an experienced operative who very probably has a lot of experience in the spy trade. While I don't think she has actually used sex to get what she wants, except in rare circumstances, I'm very much convinced she has used her allure and her beauty to make people incautious around her, to make them reveal what they shouldn't, and to mess up their minds in general if that suited her purpose.Valmy wrote...

I beleive Miri might have used her body in the past to get stuff for Cerberus, remember, she has embraced her self as a tool for Cerberus before she meets Shepard. Ugh wheres that dialog for that conversation, it's the second one when she starts talking to her father, I forget the whole qoute
She says her looks give her an edge and they do but I do not think they do in the manner you are suggesting. I think they make her seem almost super human, make her intimidating and gives people an inferiority complex. I think that WOULD work on Jack actually and sorta does given how Jack talks about her.
But using them as a form of seduction? You never get the impression she has, which is surprising frankly. I mean it would be logical that she has but you have to make a reach, an assumption. It is never even hinted at.

A femme fatale is not coy and flirty. She plays coy and flirty to get what she wants. I can see Miranda easily doing that. Im also think she is subtle more often than not, and that she doesn't appear so in the game often is a result of the fact that subtlety takes more words and is less easily comprehended by some players. Who in all the ME games shows any subtlety?Valmy wrote...
I am not even sure if it is in character. She is blunt, direct, to the point and uses her skills and knowledge to solve problems. Miranda is almost the opposite of the coy flirty and subtle femme fatale. Her character is more to capture the subject, design a truth serum, and then get all the information she wants that way then spend weeks cultivating a trust.jtav wrote...
It's not canon that she uses sex/sex appeal to get her way. However, it's entirely consistent with her character to do so if she thinks it will be effective. Bioware called her a femme fatale. I just like making her one in truth.

Haha, sorry. I think it's quite possible that they did have sex, I'm just guessing they never really had a deep romantic connection. Like, they weren't really right for each other.
I could see that being the case. I could see both things being the case, to be honest. Damn Jacob and his ambiguity.
Ieldra2 wrote...
I think both characters represent attitudes to Cerberus often at odds in
this forum. We often debate the relative merits and flaws of Cerberus,
it's agenda and methods here. I've not seen it here so much, but in
other threads these debates have occasionally been rather unpleasant.
Maybe there is some correlation between Jack fans and the "I hate
Cerberus" faction on one side, and Miranda fans and the "Maybe they're
onto something" faction on the other.
Oh, I'm a Miranda fan and I am certainly not a supporter of Cerberus. I have strong objections to them.
My liking Miranda doesn't sway me in this regard; rather, it makes me think she's a bit misguided.
But I can see what you're saying, and I'm sure it's true of some people. I think I'd be much more okay with Jack fans hating Cerberus because of their Jack fandom than Jack fans hating Miranda for it. They can be venomous.

Miranda fans and romancers are call themselves what ever they like there is no official name at all. we like miranda because we understand the relationship is indeed not just a sex affair between her and shepard. shes charming, smart, and is action packed. the perfect human. a very well done charactar and a good choice as a romantic partnerdanteshepard wrote...

We're "Mirimaniacs". And most of us like Miranda because she is competent, morally ambiguous, interesting in many aspects and, last but not least, human and beautiful. Because she's powerful enough to be a companion instead of a mere follower to a larger-than-life hero like Shepard. Read the "Miranda Manifesto" in the OP for more details.danteshepard wrote...

But to be fair, Jacob has the same change, only the opposite. I like him on Lazarus Station and Freedom's Progress, he feels like the only one you can trust, but when I get him back to the Normandy he is suddenly abrasive and standoffish.
So I can't say this is something unique to Miranda. I toss it up to inconsistent writing in general.

Very well said Ieldra, these are the exact reason why we like Miri, i dont really need to say anything else because Ieldra hit it dead on.
If Chris and Stan shut down the Tali thread, indefinatly, does that mean were next on the chopping block?
what does this mean now for the Talimancers?

I'm curious: am I the only one who likes Miranda but is mostly indifferent towards her romance? Miranda is my favorite Bioware NPC ever, but her actual romance is well behind several others. I'd put it down to being female, but Viconia and Bastila's are two of my favorites.
I'm female and I like the romance.
I like the idea of romance with that character in general - since Shepard is the only conduit with which we can experience that romance I like the idea of a Shepard and Miranda romance. No, it isn't easy for me to see other Miranda pairings, but if it's written well I can find it enjoyable.
I think your issue is that you're very Miranda-focused but you're very easily bored with Shepard for some reason. Me, I like individual lines of the dialogue in this romance, I like the way Shepard challenges her about being afraid of actually caring for someone, teases her leading up to the kiss scene, stuff like that - no, I liked a lot of the way it was written.

BTW sorry about your thread getting locked indefaintly, that blows
Now to my ffellow Mirimaniacs how do you think Miri will take her new leash on work, if she resgined at the end of your game?
I for one seeing her getting bord sometimes as she always seemed to be working, however on the bright side i feel this may free up more of her time to be with Shep and the rest of the crew and beome social with some of them to a degree.
