I just can't believe how many people really liked Miranda.
Also, while thread length is not an accurate indicator of popularity, I believe Miranda is the most popular LI after Tali. Of course, that doesn't surprise me...
And welcome, Shadedclan, I don't think we've seen you here before..
Yeah, thanks. Just new around here. I got the game weeks before. I just didn't bother to look here until now.

I don't believe that he seemed surprised. If he did, he was also surprised by the response to different characters in general.Valmy wrote...

casey mentioned it in the last interview:
Yes...but he seemed genuinely surprised people liked Miranda which is bizarre since Bioware clearly designed the character with the understanding she would be popular.
But there are people who are totally in love with Miranda. She was a
simpler character I think, but a lot of people really responded to her.
I'm always amazed at the way people respond to different characters.

Casey Hudson's interview was debated extensively here, as you can imagine. Apart from the infamous "Miranda is simpler", there's nothing in there except that "a lot of people responded to her". Doesn't say much.
About Miranda and the spy trade:
Jacob's the brawn and Miranda the brain? Quite correct - what do you think a spy is, as opposed to an assassin or a commando? Someone with skills at dealing with people and information gathering, maybe with a bit of breaking-and-entering and disguise added. Miranda has a lot more than that, but that is the core of the spy trade.

Just disagree with him (in the likely case that you don't believe that Miranda is simpler than Jack).Valmy wrote...

Yeah, and I'm impressed at how little drooling there is on the thread, especially these days. People always seem surprised at how interesting we find her. Though I do think she's stunningly take-your-breath-away beautiful and appreciate a good Miranda pic.
Well maybe in ME3 she'll get some droolers.

Hey, I just want to know, after finishing her loyalty mission, how do I get to kiss her on Paragon? Renegade choices gave me the choice to kiss her but Paragon does not.
You cannot. The renegade choices are sometimes not so renegade once the romance gets going. I think the renegade response to her request that you not die was actually pretty sweet.

She has plenty of droolers in ME2 already. Just not that much in this thread.

So our dear Shepard stole a kiss from her?

You do not get to kiss her on paragon. You must go renegade for that scene. Remember, renegade equates to "bold" in the game, and kissing Miri is a bold move (I sort of wish it was an interrupt.) Paragon you is less bold, so you just flirt with her a bunch instead.

Shepard's a wuss then for taking it slow.

It is
And Miranda has droolers. In spades. I'm glad we've managed to focus on other aspects of her character here.

I love virtually everything about her appearance. Her hair, her skin tone, her body, her accent, and her high heels....but I admit I never really noticed them to the extent that I eventually did before I warmed up to her as a character. Also there is only so many times I can sheepishly admit I find a computer generated character really attractive. Finally I know alot of the fans of Miranda are women so I don't want to gross them out by fawning over her appearance.
I do wish she had real armor (granted sexy Miranda style armor) and practical gear (that she looks fantastic in) for the missions it just gets silly...but then that goes for most of the ME2 joinable NPCs.

Paragon Shepard is a bit of a softy romance wise. The Ashley romance is a good example of this. The renegade lines get her excited, she actually makes fun of you if you use the sappy paragon lines even if she still likes you. Miranda responds differently but if you want to...turn up the sexual tension you need to use a few well placed renegade lines in any romance.

The only thing I find annoying is her breath mask. I can accept that her suit is some sort of hyper-advanced durable fibre, but she needs to put on a freaking mask when she goes into certain situations.
