My tendency to show affection to characters by doing cruel things to them in fiction is getting me in trouble again. You guys get it, right?

As a writer, yeah, I get it. Sometimes it's harder as a reader, but I try not to entrench myself in that perspective too much.

Seeya Ieldra. Meh, three's not that many pics and the other threads can be way worse than that about it.

Truth is I'm not the type of Miranda fan who ogles at picks. I appreciate a good one but I'm not crazy for looking at Miranda or anything. I never really thought she was that gorgeous to be honest, not in the perfect runway model carbon copy way she was made out to be.

Obviously it could have something to do with the fact I'm not a guy. Don't kill me for saying it but her butt always looked weird to me too - that just does not look like the way two normal cheeks are shaped.

I found her attractive, despite her jawline. Attractive enough to do a double take It's the hair and eyes. And I love pics in moderation.

As for the writer thing, I can't help it. "What's the worst thing that can happen" is the way I create conflict. My problem is that Miranda gives me so many ideas I can't focus on one for long. I haven't even given up completely on that Shepard/Miranda. Would probably go easier if I cpuld write Shep as the Alliance equivalent of C-Sec instead of a marine.

So why not do that jtav?

Marines get enlisted for special service programs and operations all the time. That's where people looking to recruit for advanced operations look. Most people in espionage have military backgrounds.

Edit: Aw, bye then vamp! Have fun.

Really, night? I didn't know that. I just want to indulge my fantasy scenario of them being the Batman/Catwoman of ME: rivals and technical enemies, but no real hatred and a weird friendship as they're the only constant in each others lives. And plenty of sexual tension. Bit of a loss as to how to do that. And I have *counts* four other Miranda-centric ideas. Little trouble focusing.

Sounds like you need a creativity strainer.

http://images.cratea...SifterAVF8?$lg$

You just plop your ideas into there and then it strains them for you.

Anyway yeah, Shepard's already an N7 - that's special forces anyway. It means the marine has graduated from an elite training program.

If Jacob can be recruited to be a Corsair - and he's not even an N7 - why can't Shepard have some Batman work on the side? Totally doable imo.

My femSheps have Thane. MaleShep has only Miranda so far, but I'm working on Tali. I kind of want to write a Tali-Miranda friendship story.

So, my Sheps are pretty monogamous. It's Miranda I ship with half the cast.

I don't think Tali and Miri would ever be friends, hell I had to do alot of work writing some of the stuff in my fic.

I don't see why they couldn't be friends. They don't really interact at all, just like - oh yeah, the rest of the crew of the entire ship.

Miri had moved Tali out of engiernering to have sex, that has to cause some bad blood between them.

Jack and Miri will become good friends :wizard::P

Ugh, I am so tired of hearing about this Tali-Miri engine room nonsense!

Tali is not aware of any engine room sex, okay? None. Why? Because in this game each characater is a freaking island, that's why. They never talk, they never interact, you think I'm going to buy Tali being aware of this?

I'll only accept that Tali even knows about it if she actually physically mentions it. To me. Like "Shepard I know you guys had sex in the engine room." Otherwise I bet it'll never even get brought up.

This is exactly the background I wrote for Shepard in my fanfics. N7 means special operations. Special operations in the real worlds means doing lot of things that don't get mentioned in the newspapers. Writing Shepard as a former black ops guy, one who's done a lot of wetwork, is how I reconciled him cooperating with Cerberus - Cerberus has done a lot of nasty things but my Shepard's hands are far from clean.

This is only assuming Tali is the really jealous, possessive type and is unable ot unwilling to let go of a crush. If Shepard was honest and upfront with her, I don't see Tali taking things really personally. She seems mature enough to let it go and move on with life. If there's bad blood between Miranda and Tali, it has to do with Miranda being Cerberus, not Miranda screwing her crush in the engine room. The fact Shepard has to shut down Tali's interest before pursuing Miranda (rather than Tali finding out by discovering them banging ten feet from her workspace) would also lessen Tali's resentment.

Have you considered writing a prequel? Shepard is an N7 - he's likely done some wetwork before. If Miranda and Shepard have met before ME2, it could even completely change the dynamic of their relationship.

Maybe some of Shepard's assignments before the events of ME involved hunting down Cerberus cells? Shepard is fairly good at his work but then runs into a particularly elusive Cerberus agent - Miranda. It could be something like a Cold War-style, cat-and-mouse, spy vs. spy thing. Shepard keeps running into Miranda but can never PROVE she's Cerberus and thus can't bring her in. However, Shepard is stubborn and keeps pursuing her and they keep running into each other. For her part, Miranda initially sees Shepard as a potential recruit, hence why she allows him to keep catching up to her. She may even try to seduce him while trying to keep him at an arm's length (to prevent him from discovering her Cerberus affiliations).

fongiel, can I use that plot if that's what I decide to focus on? Spy vs. spy is what I want, along with the realization come ME2 that she's become such a constant presence in his life that he's terrified of her dying.

And I don't see any reason Tali and Miranda can't be friends. For one thing, Shep doesn't have to be interested in either. Secondly, there's no evidence Tali had a problem with the engine room sex. Both are too old for "you stole my crush" nonsense.

On the upside, they're fiercely intelligent women who put the greater good ahead of their personal happiness and initially define themselves by membership in a group that they can end up leaving. Both had demanding fathers. There are hints that Tali has an interest in music, something Miranda would share.

Sure, go ahead! I've always found the idea intriguing myself but I'd never have the talent or patience to explore it. Greater familiarity with Miranda would also make it easier for Shepard to accept her as a member of Cerberus in ME2. With a prequel you could kill two birds with one stone:lol:.

Why? Really after her personal mission, there is nothing that devs her character at all, it's just when she confesse's she has feelings for Shepard.
