Where is the smiley with the evil grin featuring teeth like piano keys when you need it? Win-win indeed. I hope we get to read it soon.jtav wrote...
Mine either. But then, I always found "I'd kill for you" more romantic than "I'd die for you. And it seems that if I want to read a Shepard/Miranda where Miranda is still ruthless then I have to write it myself. And I get to have a dig at all the overly fluffy stories I've read. Win-win.

I'll play around with the Miranda/Shep idea and see how it goes. No promises. I still want to do the Miranda/Thane. So many ideas. So little time. Wish I could convince more people to write Miranda, but she isn't popular among writers.

I take it she's difficult to write. Not so easy to pigeonhole, thus more complicated to hit in writing. If I could manage to stay away from this thread for a few days, I might be able to come up with one or two scenes, if not a whole story. I've not given up hope yet.jtav wrote...

I think a lot of it has to do with fanfic being overwhelmingly female and romance dominated. Shep's a ready made self-insert, so you're more likely to see FemShep/LI of choice than anything else.

Just difficult to read, in most cases. Most of it's all gushy-gushy, no idea why...

And I am so sick of bad, cliche Miranda stories. Sick.

I like nothing so much in writing as a challenge, I think. If I can take something others can't do much with and make it good, well... that just releases all the little endorphins in my brain and gives me that warm fuzzy feeling.
And I do so love those endorphins.

What kind of business, do you think, did resp. does Miranda's father run? The core has to be old technology, because if he created Miranda, he must already have been very wealthy in 2150 and earlier. Four fields immediately come to mind when I think about it: energy, medical/bioengineering, weapons and finance. What do you think? Anything else? To assume that he was involved in the same field used to create Miranda is tempting, but might be a bit too straightforward.

He could be CEO of a company interested in technological research in all worthwhile fields, providing project funding to all cutting-edge R&D stuff.
Lots of possibilities.

Or it´s some kind of mining company... the hunger for ressources must be extreme and those companies that were fortunate enough to find or aquire mining rights the ressources that are in high demand (unobtainium lol) can dictate the prices and make a lot of pesos.

Yes. I was thinking of another story, where a reference needs to be made. I guess I'll peg him as leading a technology combine with bioengineering and weapons branches in 2150, branching out after discovery of the Prothean ruins into the eezo business.Nightwriter wrote...

Some more food for speculation:

well as they state "military-industrial complex" i'd say weapons or at least hardware for the military.

Miranda Lawson, trusted aide of the Shadow Broker. Hmm.
And on an unrelated note, would it have killed them to have Miranda and Liara acknowledge each other in-game? They already gave away the plot of the comuc ub the game, and the two of them were on a first name basis in the comic.

Not this again, this thing makes me really bitter and shows that Bioware did't even care about the Liara scene in ME2

Sorry. Still would have been nice. And not just because I ship them.
It would have been nice and amazing, but noooooooooooooo Bioware had to be lazy <_<
