Sorry for being absent, but I'm really drowning in work. I haven't even eaten properly today. I'll also probably not be able to post much in the next 30 hours or so.

For now, a somewhat different opinion about Miranda's face. I should think no one has a reason to doubt my admiration for her, so don't take this the wrong way.

Perhaps some of you remember I've called her face "interesting" rather than "beautiful" in the Manifest. That wasn't by chance. While she's in absolutely no way ugly, she's also not the kind of beauty who would win a beauty contest. Viewed at certain angles in the game, her face reveals certain features which seem a bit exaggerated compared with her model - Yvonne. In terms of the ME character generator, for instance, she would've looked better with the "face size" and "jaw width" sliders one or two slots to the left from their current positions.
This change makes her look both more determined and a little older, which both are perfectly appropriate and suit her personality. At the same time, the first time I saw her, I wouldn't have described her as beautiful. Perhaps "striking", most certainly "interesting", but I have only regarded her as beautiful since I noticed how much her face fits her personality - the cool blue-grey eyes, the distinctive eyebrows, the generous mouth. It's not an ideal face, but an individual's face. In spite of her figure, her beauty unlocks only at a second glance. That's why some people can't see her appeal.

Actually, my original "fanfic" wasn't going to deal with Shepard/Miranda at all.

But the Miranda love in this thread convinced me I had to.
