To the topic of Miranda...
I remember Ari posting a well thought out topic about Miranda's father - so here is a question for everyone;
Would you want her father to be a hidden hero, someone who has been helping you this entire time - or a true villian? And why?

I think it would be refreshing, to say the least if he ended up being one of the good guys. However...I see him being written (should we even come into contact with him in ME3/ ME2 DLC) as the type of character who's just there for you to hate him, making him so unsympathetic and unfeeling that killing him seems too kind.

But all Miranda's father wanted to do with her was to, essentially, turn her into some huge weapon. What he was going to use her for is unclear, other than Miranda saying that she was part of his "dynasty". Until I find out otherwise, I see Miranda's father as a controlling, self-centered, self-righteous bast*** lol
No one uses Miranda!

Curse you (with good things of course) for making me think at 1am!
I can see him as the good guy but not easily due to how little we actually know about him. And as much as I loathe saying this, we only have Miri's side of the story which makes it easy to say "Hey what does he have to say for himself?" seeing as no one has spoken in his defense or for him period.
PS: The story is great! You and Meg are doing awsome-ly

1)Are we sure that he wanted to turn her into a weapon? I don't think she ever mentioned that bit specifically, for all I/we know, he just might've wanted to make the "perfect person". I could've missed something when I was talking to her, however.
2) I would like to find out what exactly his "dynasty" entails, for all anyone knows, he could be some sort of eccentric geneticist, and needed Miranda to be the face of his dynasty.
All I know is this, good or bad I what to know what exactly he's up to and what he was planning on using Miranda for.

No pure villains except the Blight and the Reapers.
I don't think of him as someone helpingyou this entire time, but he definitely should have his own side of the story. I remember having discussions like this on the other board, and I sort of like the idea that he realized he had completely screwed things up with Miranda and was trying to 'do it right' with Oriana.

Has anyone stopped to think that Miranda is th eonly one to have actually said I love you to Shepard? I just realized this on like my fifth playthrough. Not even Liara said I love you to him. I thought that was very significant!!!
Does she say this directly?
Or is this just "what a stupid bunch of hormones decided now was a time for love?"
(Her "don't die on me, damnit" speech seems pretty indicative that there's some serious feelings there.)

This is true. But obviously he can't be a good person... Why else would Miranda have wanted to get her and her sister away from him. He must have done something she did not like. Just speculation

Agreed. I think that should he show up, he's going to be an enemy of some sort, so I'm not really debating him being a good guy so much as what he actually did to Miranda and Oriana, there's alot left unsaid about him, and it's tough to chalk it up to one thing, it might be that "selective memory' Jacob was talking about, or it could just be an omission on Bioware's part.
Like I said, I expect him to be bad, would be pleasantly surprised if he was good.
Man, I love debates!

Ashley says it. Then the leave in a huff and email... but she said she loved him. Tali said it in her own words I guess, but Miri is the only ME2 LI to use the word love I believe. Though all of the women clearly do love him in the more affectionate romance paths.

Did Miri actually use the phrase "I love you" to him? It's been a few weeks since I touched the game so I'm a bit hazy, also I realize that it might have been in a dialogue option that I didn't choose.

She doesn't actually say I love you, just "what stupid hormones decided now was the time for love" - It's quite heavily implied that she loves you there though, I'm sure you'll agree.
Yeah, I mean there's really no other way to take that particular line, I was just wondering if I missed a dialogue option somewhere, it appears that I haven't.
