I'm reminded of what I've just written in a review, particularly that the words "I love you" have been overused so much that they've lost any meaning, and I'd prefer to use something else to express love. But yes, I'd like to see our Shepard and Miranda express what they feel for each other in an unmistakeable way, and have the prospect of a future together, while the particular kind of future should remain cloudy so that everyone can insert his or her own interpretation. I, for instance, wouldn't go for marriage - my vision would include something akin to what I've written on page 117.

I don't want to see the whole big house in the suburbs, great kids, perfect mariage kind of ending. That would be kind of lame to me. I like your idea, though, Ieldra. It's hard for me to imagine what I'd do (as Shepard) after the fighting's over.

If Miranda somehow dies in ME 3, I'm likely going to choose the sacrifice ending, assuming it's an option.

This (these :P). Completely agree with you guys.

Ieldra, I share your feelings that some words and expressions are so overused these days that they are meaningless to me. I hear people left and right constantly say "I love you", in situations where it dilutes the significance of the expression, turning it into an empty husk, devoid of any real feeling and emotion.

That was actually one of the things I loved about romancing Miranda. Their feelings for each other were not stated, they were demonstrated by their actions and interactions, which made me feel they were much deeper than if they had said anything like "I love you".

And Toshi, I'm with you on the sacrifice ending for ME3 if Miranda dies. I don't have any suicidal tendencies, even in game, but for my Shep, living another century after defeating the reapers and having to deal with all the BS in the galaxy that you know will never change without Miranda by his side, it's preferable to go out with a bang.

I'd like the marriage and kids things. Then again, I'm a sap, sooo.

Lol, I'm from Florida and everyone here calls it soda. I went up to Michigan and everyone calls it pop. It was a funny vacation

Florida, huh?  Me too.

Looks like we have (had?) an age thing going on.  I'm 20.  21 in August.

I just want Shepard and Miri to show what they feel for each other. Tho if you pick no promisses Miri shows you her true feeling for you.

Since we're talking about favorite romances in other Bioware games:

BG2: Viconia here. Jaheira's was probably the most mature romance but I didn't like her voice and liked her mother-henning even less. I also appreciated the tragic outcome of Viconia's romance. But my "canon" character was a female Diviner (named "Mirande", really [no misspelling, it carries a different mood in German with the "e"]). No romance there for lack of remotely pleasant options, just as in ME2.

DAO: Morrigan, and for similar reasons I like Miranda for. She has her own plans and doesn't let love get in their way. I respect that and hope we'll come together later. It also happens I actually agree with her plans as far I can decipher them.

26, agree tali is way more like a sister then a romance to me

jtav...you know im kind of glad im not the only that saw Miranda and Jaheira, and can acutaly see Aerie and Tali being alike not Jack and Viconia through as I acutaly liked Viconia as a romacne choice in BG2 and dont like Jack as a choice in ME2

Thanks. I'm tempted to make a post in the main comm to test my theory. I do think Jack and Viconia are very similar: both have sexual assualt in their backstory, both run hot and cold, and both have no idea how to deal with love.

Morrigan for me too but for the same reason as Miranda....complex character that takes some effort to break her barriers down and see her feelings and the person really underneath.

Overused in what sense?  My feeling is in fiction people try to stay away from those words even making characters phobic about saying them like they are magical.

I mean in my life I say "I love you" all the time to the people I love.  I don't really see how saying it alot makes it less true...but I presume you are talking about fiction here.

Except Morrigan pretty much lets you know you will never know her and the relationship will not end well and she is truthful on that count.

You never really know exactly what she is all about, you just have to make conjecture.

But I didn't really  care much for the Morrigan character myself.

Foir me it was

BG2: Viconia: Similar reasons to Ieldra, I loved the ending.

Jade Empire: Silk Fox, only decent one.....

Mass effect: Ashley, I did not like liara at all and Kaidan was Carth 1.0.

DAO: tie between Liliana and Morrigan. Both where detailed and written very well.

ME2. MIRI!!!!!!

fav romance ever: MIRI

I hate you all.

Jade Empire: Silk Fox.

The Witcher: Triss.

DA: Morrigan.

ME: Liara.

ME2: isnt that obvious?

KotOR: Bastila.

KotOR2: It would be Mira if could. eh... Visas, lets say.

Neverwinter Nights: Aribeth.

NWN2: hell, no good NPCs. Maybe Safira then.

If you start now talking about romances and DA stuff i will kill you. really. i need to go! ;(

Frig man, in DAO my dwarf noble got with almost all of them. He was a bit of a playa.

My Shepard, on the other hand, is a one woman kind of guy. (Well, one woman per game at this rate, but I'll stick with Miri in ME3.)
