Wouldn't she, in that case, rather be jealous of Oriana instead of protective? My impression is that she wants to prevent Oriana from having to go through the same she had. From your scenario, I can imagine a twist of mind that results in the current Miranda, but it doesn't seem likely.

Yeah when you max out an ammo power, the power is granted to every party members current weapon when you activate it.

To be honest, I don't think it's quite on the same level, and the OP is already big enough. The Manifest was an attempt to capture what I felt and thought about Miranda, its strength was that it was written with a mix of passion and analytical distance. This is more of a detached background analysis and - as opposed to the Manifest - I can see it causing a bit of controversy. But if there's a consensus, I won't mind.

I'm not finished, btw, with writing about Miranda's making. She represents a controversial theme often explored in SF, the improvability of the human species by science and technology. There are various topics to explore with regard to that. There is, for instance, the fact that enhanced cognitive abilites may be, for all that's known, not that hard to achieve (it's been done, selectively, with mice), which begs the question of why we aren't all smarter. No time to write all that up now, though.

You mean outlines it in more detail. I always thought it looks too much like a paint job, which is part of the reason why I prefer the black outfit.
