To everyone else yea sorry bout my disappearance I had to call my cellular carrier because it seems that my phone wont work in London and all this other stuff...

I'm only about 30 miles away from London.  Look north and you might see the dark cloud hanging over me

Ok here's another section. This is the result of about three passes and I'm still not entirely happy with the last 3 paragraphs. I'm better at the manly conversations and action than the emotionally intense stuff, lol. Opinions welcome!



The elevator ride to deck 1 seemed to take an eternity. Miranda leaned against the wall and covered her face with her hand. She’d spent the last few days trying to prepare for this moment, but now that it was here her resolve was weakening.

She wished she could have gotten it over with sooner, but the week since the attack on the Collector base had been filled with activity. The Normandy had just barely held together during the jump back to the Omega-4 relay and was in need of serious repairs. Shepard had contacted Councilman Anderson to try to smooth things over with the Alliance, but that would take time. Jacob had some contacts from his Alliance Corsair days that could help, but it would take a few more days to arrange everything. In the meantime, they were making what repairs they could and keeping a low profile.

Finally, the elevator doors slid open. Miranda summoned her courage and knocked on the door of the captain’s cabin.

“It’s open” called a voice from inside.

“Commander, do you have a minute?” she asked as she stepped through the door.

Shepard looked up from his desk. “You’re still calling me Commander? Even in private?” he said with a grin.

“You ass.”

He put down the datapad he’d been examining for the better part of an hour and stood up as she approached. The data from the Collector base could wait. He reached out and took Miranda’s hands in his.

“I never properly thanked you for saving me… on the platform. I thought I was dead” she said quietly.

Shepard pulled her into an embrace and held her tightly. “You don’t need to thank me. There’s no way I was going to lose you. It would have been unbearable.”

He continued to hold her close. Miranda closed her eyes. She wanted nothing more than to stay there in his arms, but she knew that she couldn’t… not today. She gently pulled away and placed her hands on his chest. “There’s something I need to tell you… something important. I want this to work… and that means I can’t keep secrets from you.”

I seem to remember something about the rendering of a fine behind being the epitome of innovation in video games. Must've been an illusion. Well, at least it was coherently worded, which is more than you can see in quite a lot of posts in these forums.

 I can't say anything for London since I haven't been there since I was a little lad. Nowhere near the area now either.
