Have you got any old pictures of Miri?shinobi602 wrote...
That's an oolllldd picture. I'm glad they changed her look. She looks a lot better now than the old builds of her.
No, but I remember watching older videos when ME2 was first being shown and Miranda was shown. That's what she looked like.

Yeah. I think this is charming.Valmy wrote...
It is sort of strange that on such a beautiful woman it is her slightly crooked teeth I find the most adorable part of her.

Rath that was a beautiful chapter/excerpt! Very well written. Well, could expect nothing less from you of course
And Meg, don't forget Meg.
She actually wrote the majority of the chapter - all I did was add a couple of details and whatnot.. so it's technically 80% of her work, haha.

She's beautiful and cute. It also makes her more real, not some plastic-looking image of supposed perfection.
I can't even look at mags like FHM and Maxim nowadays because every girl on them looks fake, too touched up. They don't seem to realize when they're overdoing it on the Photoshop editing. I get the uncanny valley feeling from those photos a lot more than I ever did of any CG character.

I think everyone is getting burnt out on the fanfics. I don't think most people even read them anymore. =(
It's just 'cos the thread is a bit quiet at the minute. Come on peeps, you dont want to give Rath & Meg 'Hurt Feelings'!

I most certainly read yours and Raths, and it was incredible as always.
Don't tell Rath but I guessed that this one was mostly your work.

@Jedi: Haha, Thanks. What I wrote was really rough. Rath polished it up and made it pretty. It's a team effort all the way.

Silent appreciation, Meg.
Plus, our story is averaging about 200 hits per chapter.. not bad considering we've only posted it here, and you can't find it in the search on FFN.

I've had a bit of writer's block for the last couple of days, but family permitting tomorrow I should have another Chapter ready for you all.
I have a pretty solid outline of my whole story but I always get bogged down in dialogue lol.
(Although the special guest appearance by Garrus is proving to be the hardest part so far.)

Meg, in my case, I avoid them as matter of looking after my health.
There was a time when I read fanfics until it was 5 in the morning and had to wake up early the next day. It had bad results. So now, as a rule, I avoid them lest I become addicted again.
There's also a little problem with your Sheps for me. All of you seem to prefer the Sole Survivor background, and feature that prominently in your stories. Even though I play mostly paragon with a bit of renegade, I always chose the Ruthless background. My Shep is known as the Butcher of Torfan, as they call him in game, even though he's a really good guy. So I can't really get into your stories, as it doesn't feel like my Shep.

We actually had a discussion regarding that in the 1.0 thread.
One of the things that's hard about portraying Shepard is the choices you have in deciding what his background and life has been like leading up to ME1.
It's hard to portray Shepard ambigiously (without mentioning his past) for the simple reason that his past defines his choices.
In example; would a War Hero understand what it's like to watch his squad to torn apart like a Sole Survivor would? No. Would that War Hero understand -truly- the pain that Garrus was feeling when he lost his squad? No.
Would a Earthborn know the luxuries of growing up in space, would a Spacer know the troubles of growing on Earth?
No.
It's hard to write a fanfiction about Shepard because, from the start, you need to understand that you will have people who won't be able to connect to your stories because their character's background is different from your's - and you'll have to understand that. While I regret that you can't enjoy our story because you can't connect to it - it's understandable.
