In regards to Chuck, a lot of people I've talked too are understandably pissed that Chuck turned into a douche and Sarah becoming Sam and all that, but you know... I like the fact she revealed her name to Shaw instead of Chuck because now Chuck is fully cognizant of what he has lost, and is even more aware that he wants her back. They're both lost and are therefore more entertaining to me. Also, maybe I'm alone here as well, but I wasn't outraged that Chuck slept with Hannah despite being in love with Sarah and I wouldn't be outraged if Sarah slept with Shaw either. I mean, it's like they're evolving not just as characters (but as people!) and we all know (or hope at least) where they'll end up.
Oh yeah, long time no see!
I was thinking though that in ME3 I'd like to see some new things:
1) Closer parallels between Cmdr. Shephard and Saren (i.e., appearing in this case to go Renegade because of lack of support from the people he is supposed to get it from; aka Alliance/Cerberus Command and the Citadel Council). If Paragon for example; Shephard gains alliance with the Geth/Rachni while
balancing relations with their enemies of Quarians and Krogan for example. This may mean assassinating characters like Admiral Xen/Han'Gerrel or Urdnot Wreav for example or attempting to placate Wrex again.
2) An actual playable incident of Shephard past (i.e., defending against the Skyllian Blitz, surviving the Akuze incident, taking part in the siege of Torfan)
3) The introduction of a large character related to Shephard past: (ie., perhaps a character who got the N7 Program to recruit Shephard in the first place due to his performance in the past incident... although I admit I can't properly remember the timeline on whether this is possible or not)
4) Shephard suffering a grevious injury that allows the above reliving to take place as a vehicle to gain deeper insight into Shephard's character and experiences, i.e., the reason why Shephard is such a bad ass.
5) Said injury being the loss of an arm, necessitating it's replacement by a Geth construct (note; this happened to Saren). After living through his past again, Shephard wakes up to see his LI (Miranda of course!) looking over him much the same way as when he woke up at the Cerberus Lazarus station.
6) Shephard's doubts on whether he can actually pull it all off - save galactic civilization from the Reapers, positive reinforcement from all of his major allies and LI (Miranda!)
7) Due to Shephard's 'rogue' action, he has other Spectre's engaged to bring him to justice. Obviously our hero either slays them all or convinces them he's right.
8) The Normandy feeling more alive (i.e., characters aren't standing around in the same place all the time, but not otherwise impossible to locate)
9) Epic fights throughout the game and not just at the end! As awesome as staving the Reapers off in orbit of Earth (whilst they smash it, perhaps even ending in a phyrric victory) while potentially reinforcements from different species will undoubtedly be, I'm afraid that if it's too much undiluted awesome I might have a fatal heart attack... I want to at least risk having three throughout the course of the game!
I'll try to flesh out more ideas if anyone is interested in what I have to say
