How did Shepard do a 'rogue' action? I mean he, at least in my game, rejoined the Spectres and was basically given carte blanche to do what he felt was necessary in the Terminus Systems.

Of course it makes many assumptions about how you played (I'm speaking primarily as a paragon "can't we all be friends" basis) however, lets assume you make friends with the Geth, who aren't really on speaking terms with the Citadel council and only recently invaded the Citadel how do you figure the council would react if they started to hear rumours that Shephard has aligned himself with the Geth?
Before you reply, consider this:
1) Presumably in the council's view of the Geth is that they are completely of singular ambition, they dismiss Legion as a 'trophy-bot.'
2) As you're well aware, the events of the siege of citadel are fresh in their minds, where they were betrayed by one of their most decorated and respected Spectres (although they are probably at a loss as to explain why Saren betrayed them). Could this be history repeating itself?
3) The Reapers are not going to be just in the Terminus Systems. Shephard would be quite keen on getting as many alliances up as possible, be it from Mercenary groups, Cerberus, Krogan, Rachni, Quarian, whatever.

I agree. I would very much like to see this theme explored. There's also the similarity between Shepard and Miranda - both are artificially enhanced in some way. Lastly, there's the possibility that his implants make him vulnerable to Reaper "possession" in a similar way Sovereign's implants changed Saren. This is especially interesting if the hypothesis that TIM used Reaper tech to make Shepard's implants prove true.Arijharn wrote...
The increasing cybernetics of Shephard are also useful because of it's philosophical connotations; i.e., is he still human, or more or less? This would be heightened in orders of magnitude to Shephard because he likely remembers the increasing... inhumanity of Saren. If it could somehow be linked (or he becomes half aware that some of Cerberus implant technology is linked to Reaper) like what the Illusive Man has done to Paul Grayson in the upcoming Mass Effect novel, it becomes even more poignant for him.

You posted some interesting ideas that could work. I wonder how much leeway a spectre gets considering the whole point of being a spectre is to solve problems regardless of the use unorthodox methods.Arijharn wrote...

If we consider parallels between Shepard and Saren then we probably also need to consider parallels to TIM. From the cutscenes we've scene, he may or may not be completely human and it certainly mentioned that many consider TIM and Cerberus as a whole as terrorists.
This is a great story (are you writing any fanfics?) and would make a great cutscene but purely from a gameplay perspective, only the final line mentions elements where you can play and even then, we've already killed a thresher maw on foot during Grunt's loyalty mission. Unless you make the story play like a horror survival type game but I don't know if it would fit in the game or be even allowed to be released in what is essentially a non-gorey game.Arijharn wrote...
Akuze story.
... as you trudge out into the open and prepare to meet the monsters.
I think we both agree that Shepard should a little more vulnerability to highlight his humanity.Arijharn wrote...
I agree... somewhat. I think every character could help lift shephard's spirits, of course none to the extent of Miranda. Garrus and Tali for example have stronger history for example, and I think that showing some sort of vulnerability on the part of Shephard would make him seem more human. The story is of course Shephard, but it would be disingenious to say that Shephard could make it alone.

If someone is going to share Miri with me, then that means they will have to be willing to share me... unless you're a dude.... well, Kaidan or a Canadian dude is fine..... don't ask why

Not a dude (Dearie I almost typed dudu), and eh I did say I'd sleep with Miri which implys something about my demeanor towards stuffs like that, though I am curious as to why Canadian in specific... NVM in Odin's word's it probably hails from the land of none-of-my-damned-business.
