I have something more to say about this, but the article isn't yet good enough.

Looking forward to the article, Ieldra. I agree that Miranda will bever be the sterotypical baking cookies PTA mom, but I'd like to see her get to the point where she wants kids. So many of her issues are tied up in her genes and her abusive father and a planned and hoped for child would read as putting those demons to rest, especially a scene of her telling the kid she's proud of him/her no matter what. As long as she also continues to be a strong, active protagonist with a keen sense of mission and purpose and not the Designated Love Interest, I'm happy.

Perhaps one of the strengths of this being a RPG is that there can never be a designated love interest.  Miranda is just as much of a cool customer on the suicide mission whether she is hopelessly in love or hopelessly in loathing.

And I think she would be an exceptionally demanding mother despite her best efforts to love her kids no matter what.  She would probably see it as her mission that they excell and push them far harder than she planned to.  Nothing but the best.
