I mostly agree with this. There are some questions that immediately pop up when thinking about Shepard's and Miranda's future together:

(1) Will Miranda want children? Possibly yes...
(2) If yes, will she be a mother in more than the biological sense? No idea, actually. I can see her preferring just to pass on her superior genes and avoid actually being a mother, and I can see her being a somewhat unconventional mother as well. What I cannot see is her staying in one place long, so either her children would have to put up with being moved often or spend long periods without their mother. Or they'll all live together on a very big spaceship going off to explore the unknown space between mass portals.  
(3) If yes, when will she have children? I say preferrably not right at the end of ME3. I think having just saved the galaxy she might not be ready to be bound to yet another important duty for the foreseeable future.

In the end it comes down to this: there is a need for Miranda's future, if she stays together with Shepard, to be unconventional. A conventional future would belittle what has gone before and would contradict the implication that Shepard's and Miranda's future is somehow meaningful for humanity as a whole.

(Hmm, I wonder if there is any need to say more. These are just the words I couldn't find yesterday. We'll see)

Shepard and Miri have a spacer kid?

Anyways you also have to put the fact that Miri might die in ME3, if so I hope Shepard can commit suicde. Joshua Shepard can't live without Miri.

Well Spacer Shepard followed his parents around on warships and space stations as they served out their military careers (and his mother is STILL in the military...I mean she has had what? A 40 year career?)



I suspect if Miranda becomes an actual mother she could take her kids along with her as she carries out whatever projects and missions she is doing. Her obsession with having a regular family may inspire her to stay put for awhile and try at being "conventional" for awhile. Though I think her boundless energy and need to be challenged would make that fairly short lived...which is not to say raising children is not challenging or doesn't drain energy...but it is not that mentally stimulating.

I don't believe in not being able to live without someone. I wouldn't mind the option, but I'd never use it. In my ME world, Miranda wouldn't, either.
