If either one dies in ME3 there will be no children to speak of.  Until the Reapers are defeated both of them are going to be a little busy.

And if one of them -has- to die. I rather have it be my Shepard. I am sucker for cliche heroic deaths/taking bullet for someone else/ Holding a line till death so others can live.

Yeah. This scene is good example of the heroic death, if it only had served bit greater purpose, it would've been even greater.

Ok, Ieldra. Having read your post, I can see why you had a problem with my use of that expression on my post.

The thing is, we have a very different interpretation of what the expression "mind over matter" means. I never thought of it the way you do.

To you, it's achieving the impossible thanks to the mind.

To me, it's the "mind" being more important than "matter" in achieving something.

The analogy I think best illustrates my interpretation is Apple and Steve Jobs.

If you're aware of the history of Apple, you'll know that the company has only been successful (and very successful at that) with Jobs at the helm. It's Jobs' vision and guidance, the "mind", that made them the juggernaut Apple is.

The rest of the company (engineers, programmers, managers, etc,), the "matter", have been for it's 30 years of history kind of irrelevant, since in many cases we see that the same exact teams fared very differently with and without Jobs leading them.

The rest of Apple is replaceable by people of similar skill (the "matter"), while no one can replace Steve Jobs (the "mind") and do what he does. So it's mind over matter in achieving success, meaning the mind is more important than matter in reaching the goal, not that the goal is impossible.

The way I see it, if we think of the Lazarus Project as an analog of Apple, Miranda is it's Steve Jobs.

I read it as well.  I have to say that I while I don't agree with the mind over matter as not fitting the genre, I do agree that the scars did not fit ME in any way.  The mind over matter explanation simply did not work as a valid explanation as to why the scars are in there.  For that specific case it was a bad attempt to throw in a cliche of morality plays that never really worked with anywhere in the first place... yes, even in Star Wars.  However, that does not mean that  mind over matter doesnit fit in such a science fiction universe.

But then I don't believe in a physical, causally closed universe.  Physicalism just doesn't work for me.  So science fiction and fantasy are alike in that respect for me.

I can only say, two of my gfs were about 155cm (that would be 5'2" in Imperial units, I believe). And the exotic is often more attractive than the non-exotic. Actually, 25 years ago a description like this would've made me mightily curious.

We had to turn off Mr.Coffee, he was interfering with Mr.Radar.

now when i was thinking about me3 i realized that.. well i hate to say it, but i am not completely sure if we will be able to continue our relationship. lets face the fact that every game need to be freshy, and bioware will probably stick to the rule 'all new, we are not monotonic'. that means maybe we will can stay fatihful or sth like that but shepard will be given new romances, as they did teh same to me2.. we met old friends but have a chance to change LI etc, you know.

i just never have met game like series, that our characters will be still with one person, and we will be doing things like in 'sims'. i just cant imagine seeing shepard already in relationship, talking to this person like they have known each other for ages. bioware probably thinks the same, that we should have a totally new romance and delevop feelings for others.... know what i mean?
