They did, they changed her face and last name when Yvonne aggread to play the part.
I am not sure why they cast her for such a bizarre role: a secret agent protecting her organizations most valuable asset.

I find in interviews that Yvonne's natural accent sounds almost American the way she says certain words. I never noticed it with Miranda

Yes. Having to speak with an American Accent for work means she tries to keep it up when she is over here.
Perhaps it just comes back after she goes back to Australia for awhile or when she plays an Australian part.
Accents are a weird thing for actors. Stephen Fry mentioned in an interview when he visited Hugh Laurie on the House set, Hugh totally weirded him out by being unable to speak like a proper Englishman at first.

About her voice, does anyone get the feeling Miranda's voice isn't the same as Yvonne's voice?
What gives you that idea? I was under the impression they changed Miranda to be Australian just so Yvonne could use her natural voice.

I think we all agree. And it does't get repeated much because, well, it has been repeated so much already. We just take it for granted that Miranda's voice is beautiful.Kleskus wrote...

Kinda like Christian Bale uses an American accent whenever he does publicity for an American movie, when he's actually Welsh.
