I want to go to GDCOnly time I've ever been close to famous people are designers and models at fashion shows and I don't care about them. I want to see the people who work at Bioware!
so fill out a volunteer application to be a CA on the website next year! all you have to do is write an essay and 'sell' yourself as a good choice!!!
last year i worked with Microsoft and also met Will Wright (Spore) and the whole team from EPIC Games.
:wub:Gears
It was really a blast... I can never again let a year go by without attending. All the knowledge in that place... I wish my brain could just absorb it all and I could start making the most amazing games right away!!
If you all want, while I'm there, I can post pics as I take them... if I can find WiFi access that is. I will try!

@Rath: *high five*
@Vyndael: I want to go too. SF is only 2 hours from me too. =/
@Nadia: Do you even have to ask? I think the answer is a very emphatic, "Yes!" (in Miranda's voice)

you KNOW there's too much banter going on when you have to separate your replies
I will take pics of good stuff for you all and post when I can! I'll be super busy attending talks and roundtables and seminars and other stuff... but eventually I'll have to get to a computer.
Woooo! 2.5 days until my flight to Cali!!

Well, at least NY has Comic Con. And yes, you definitely need to post some pics
Don't forget PAX is in Mass. this year too! I am also a volunteer there as well... it's really so soon after GDC that I hope I'm not still sleeping!
If you're in NYC, MA is only four hours away. If I were you, I'd consider making a trek up here for that weekend- I have a feeling it's going to be amazing as well!

I actually love reading the GDC coverage, talking about game design is more itneresting then some of the bling new stuff at E3 (at least to me.)
I still remember last year's GDC with Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaine talking about how game 'polish' is often overlooked...I could just see the people from, say, GPG and Relic thinking to themselves that not everyone has a huge pile of money from the most successful MMO on the planet and can spend three years designing a game after it's been publicly announced.
Actually, it was ME1 that really got me to start thinking about gaming's potential as a medium a lot more seriously. I had obviously played lots of RPGs before, and games that told a story before, but nothing had pulled me in in quite the same way. The moment that really got me was Virmire--not so much having to choose between Kaidin and Ashley, but after I made the choice and my dialogue wheel came up. What was I going to say to poor, doomed Alenko? The 'I"ll come resuce you' fiction didn't work for me.

I've been reading this thread for about 3 days now, ever since I beat ME2 (planning on playing some more once I buy a new 360 tomorrow). I finally sucked it up and overcame my laziness...registered my game so I could post and show my support. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am 110% for Sheppard and Miranda to return as squad mates and lovers in ME3.
I'm going to try and work on a fanfic for you guys/gals to help make the wait for ME3 a little less painful.

Have you ever considered going, Com? If you love just the coverage, imagine the feeling of actually being there!

Maybe I should, maybe next year. I had a blast at Blizzcon even though I hadn't been playing WoW for a long time. Where is it?
Maybe I should completely switch careers and became a games designer.
