You know whats really ****ed up tho? The anonymity actually allows that person to show their true self without being afraid of any consequences. And some folks are downright scary when you see what they are really like...

i always get asked my age... and then they're all 'oooo' after that.

well, i stopped giving it out after the second time but still got 'Sex-box'd'. It's like they think it's some free sex chat line and you're there for their needs.

i once played gears campaign with this guy i'd met playing horde. we had a lot of fun and chatted about all different stuff as we played, for like 6 hours.

then he wanted to go sleep so i said thanks, etc etc nice stuff and he said he was shocked i was ticked off he was leaving the game.

I said "Wth? you've been playing with me for 6 hours.. what more can i ask?"

so he left and then next night comes along and he's playing something else but sending me messages asking how i am, etc pleasantries.

so then i guess he died in the game he was in because he was messaging me about how i made him lose. i was in the middle of a horde thingy so i didn't answer right away and get another message telling me 'oh i know you want to answer me, you really want me bad. i lost my game because i was thinking about how H***y you are for me'

WHAT gives guys this idea? really?? i never once said anything remotely flirty to him ever and suddenly this?

why is it that guys assume that if you talk to them, you want to have sex with them? oh that's right, guys can't have girl friends.

That's so sad.  Guys can have such a one-track mind.  Not me, though.  Do you want to talk about it sometime?  Maybe meet up?

Thanks for sharing your views/links Flashy, Meg, and Nadia... this is actually the first time I've met a girl that plays a system other than the Wii or Farmville. I didn't know it's so hard for you out there... but I empathize I have to go through people dropping racial slurs all the time on MW2 atleast on most of the games I play their admins that dont put up with that ****! Hopefully Xbox Live matures and you wont have to put up with the senseless trolling anymore.

Some guys apparently think that being kind to a girl is an instant-in for some kinky stuff. Makes me embarrassed to be a male gamer sometimes..

Yeah, I only recently got my own gamertag and xbox. I used to use my ex-boyfriend's and his gamertag was ambiguous so I let everyone assume I was a guy when I could get away with it. Can't say I've had as many positive experiences as an obvious female gamer. <_<

For once I'm actually laughing about it! But seriously you try being told who you are by a 5 year old in a 25 year olds body and see how long it takes before you just say "Ahhh F'k it" and actually tell them you're a man to avoid the harrasment

Yeah, I only recently got my own gamertag and xbox. I used to use my ex-boyfriend's and his gamertag was ambiguous so I let everyone assume I was a guy when I could get away with it. Can't say I've had as many positive experiences as an obvious female gamer. <_<

First, is it really that bad?

Second... how come I get mistaken for a girl almost all the time if I don't use the headset and you get the opposite?  Is that saying something about me?
