Thats the thing tho, there is not alot we can discuss anymore. There is so much we can talk about Miri and its tha nks to you, Darth and others for there fan fics that keep Miri intrest here. I will admit I go off topic sometimes, simply because there is nothing to talk about Miri without rehashing it. There is sometimes stuff comes up, like last night with me comparing Bastila to Miri. People actualy talked about it and debated. It only died out like sometime in the morrining.

If this helps, I saltue you for making a good fan fic Rath :wizard:

@firecleaner: Lol. There's no need for anyone to apologize. Hell, I've participated more than a few times, but it doesn't need to be discussed every 5 minutes. A bit of silliness when there's a lull in conversation is fine, but it becomes a bit monotonous to wake up every morning and read the same tasteless pants/yogurt jokes from the same people.

I haven't seen a Miranda discussion in a long time.

Actually, I initiated a couple this morning. It's hard to keep discussions going when only one or two people are really contributing anything though. I've noticed a lot of meaningful and interesting topics have been completely lost in the waves of nonsense.

And that's a bad thing - for a thread supporting Miranda, we've went from actually thoughtful discussion regarding her things to passing time by flirting with one another, talking about licking chocolate of Miri, etc. We had that in small amounts of the first thread and in the beginning of this one, but since then..

What's the point of coming to this thread when everytime I look at it - it's all about smut?

I couldn't agree more. When there was only a bit of it here and there, I didn't mind it. It's gotten way out of hand now though. That's why I've been going to other threads more often lately, if I visit the forum at all.

Speaking as someone that doesnt stop by the forums more then one a day or so its alittle dishearting i think to some, as someone that like a character in a book or movie or this case a game and Miranda being one if not thee best to come out of ME2, sometimes its nice to come by a forum or whatever to a place you think other feel the same, but when you try to say something or get what others thing and all you see is pictures of food or watch yourselfs or other peoples words get lost in the every day talk that the normal 10 people have well it just makes you shake your head and go. the everyday talk is nice its great some people made friends or whatever through a thread but in a way it chases away new people or people that just want to stop by for a bit.

just my two cents, ohhh and too all the fanfic people i most say since im ranting here they been really good

@Jedi - PM it to me, my friend. I'm not a very good forum sleuth anymore, so trying to delve into the pages of the forums to find it would take me a while.

@Kraidy - Don't just salute me - salute Meg. Honestly, she deserves a lot more credit than I do when it comes to the story. She's written most of the second story, all I do is tweak it - to be honest.

And you do make a valid point - and it's something I mentioned, it's hard to discuss Miranda consistently, because there is so little to discuss. We're at a disadvantage here because the Tali fans can discuss Tali - her relations with the fleet, the quarians, the geth, etc etc. We have -nothing- except her father, her sister, and Cerberus.

It's upsetting.

I saltue both of you, I know it takes alot of time to write fan fics. I my self use to write fan fics but I just don't have the time anymore. So don't stop the good work.

Thats why we need an add-on or somethingt hat deals with her father, that would cause alot of conversations.

The most we can do is post a picture of Miranda or Yvonne and try to start a discussion with that, but then the topic goes off somewhere else.

But, it's what I've noticed and coming from my perspective.

Also I've followed you and Meg's fanfic since it started. I make sure to check everyday for updates. And when it is updated it's always with a lovely new chapter. You both do great work. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Even for me sometimes I dont post because its off-topic, I wont lie I did post things that were completely off-topic again I apologize. It is nice that people have become friends but I guess we will have to just adapt and try to be more on-topic as we move on.

Ladies and gentlemen, turians and hanar, elcor and salarians, the moment you've been waiting for:

Chapter 7 of Mass Effect: Reflections!
  • EXPERIENCE the tension on Akuze as Shepard searches for the science team!
  • FEEL THE FEAR as things are not what they seem!
  • WONDER who, or what, is responsible!
  • DISCOVER what dead Greek poets have to do with all this!

An addon would be good - but god knows how long we have til ME3 - so they're probably not going to bust out the big guns til we get closer to that launch.

Still have the Hammerhead, Kasumi, and whatever else til they start focusing on sqaudmates. I'm surprised the sudden uproar for a romance pack hasn't even been mentioned by Bioware yet.

Another thing I'd like to point out about why I get upset about going off topic. I realize we can't always talk about Miranda and I don't expect us to, but imagine what visitors to the thread see when they visit. They could go back 10 pages and not find anything meaningful about Miranda. We can't expect them to go back and read all 600 pages. Even asking them to read the entire OP is a bit much if they just wanted a simple answer or to discuss something specific about the character. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a newcomer bold enough to post something, only to be ignored or responded to rudely. It's really disheartening because how are we supposed to get new members with new opinions which eventually leads to new discussions if we're alienating anyone not in on the thread's "private jokes"? Which aren't even funny to begin with.

Just my two cents.

i think long threads like this need some off topic here and their, i bit of off topic helps the thread live which i guess is what people want right as keeping the thread alive shows support or somthing?  i think its kind of fine its just that i notice in the longer thread it seems like sometimes people ingore anything that doesnt come from people that dont post alot

They need to add the mission bits in the sucide mission. You can tell during it that a couple of things where cut out. There was most likely a stealth part if not, then why did we need to get Thane? They also need to patch the romance dialog after the suicide mission, as only Jacob and Tali have post-romance dialog. Also there is an upcoming add-on that will make female Shepards happy. This is rumored to be the cure for Thane mission which will be the first of add-ons for squadmates.

It does get a little old to keep getting the "I'll come by the next time things are quiet" line, lol. Miranda's such a tease.

I'm not going to lie, I do ignore some people post especially the ones that want analysis on somethings because if you havent noticed I'm not a man of many words so I doubt I'll say anything profound. I do notice that if no one takes the first step to respond to that person they'll get left behind.

@ Jedi man I cannot wait for the next chapter... I want the Tresher Maw to come now! I also want to see Miranda's reaction to Shepard's story.

Its not old, its annolying and stupid, and the point that Jacob (who is the worse LI in the game) has post romance dialog is just insulting.

I don't know if it's easier, but I found it provided the most interesting angle. It's kind of a built-in way to add Miri/Shep tension that doesn't feel contrived, and at least in my case, I'm playing it that the Illusive Man has been watching Shepard for quite a long time.

It all depends on your writing style, to be honest.

One of the main reasons alot  of the fan fictions go with the Sole Survivor background is because of how it links into the main story. It gives a firm base for Shep's distrust of Cerberus, etc.

In a sense, it is easier. But at the same time, it could be hard. Let's say you're writing a section about the suicide mission. A War Hero Shepard wouldn't quite understand how to handle the loss of men under his wing in such a way - like a Sole Survivor would.

Sadly when I'm on there is usually little activity in comparison to the daytime posts.  So even when I'm in a serious mood and discussin Miri's emotional engagement, it only lasts for a little bit because only two or three posters are on period.
